They also played a reasonable opposition ;)

Spot on there Latte, you blokes have got off to a flyer beating 2 of the finalists from last year and will have to go in favourite for next week at Largs ;)

Wouldn't say fav's at all LMA, not down there on your patch. It will be a cracker of a match tho.

Never mind. Found it.....eventually.

Set your alarm for 6am

I believe it used to be called Torrens Valley Sports Field, not really too sure why it changed... (maybe after a club stalwart?)
And it's not that far away LMA

I think he was actually a Campbelltown Councillor

Wouldnt say that LMA Districts have had a great start to the year all be it against 2 sides that may struggle. However at home and coming down from DIV 1 to DIV 2 and Playing a side coming up from DIV 3 Districts would surely start favourites. Will be a very interesting game and could provide good insight to where both teams are at.

Pretty reasonable game of footy on Saturday in windy and slippery conditions at Modbury. ROCS winning by 5 goals, however a much better performance from the Hawks against a stronger opposition. Some positive signs with a few lads making massive steps in their development and a few to make there way back in the next week or so. Still, means feck all when your on the wrong side of the result. Difference was Lister, we always struggle to control him (were not alone though).
15 minutes of football cost us and the rest we probably won/matched ROCS. They jumped out the blocks, 4-5 goals (3 to lister) in the first Qtr. We then stopped their scoring and controlled the footy but couldn’t go inside 50 with any purpose in the 2nd Qtr to be 4 goals down at half time. We then kicked 4 goals to 1 to bring the margin back to 5 points with 5 mins to play in the 3rd. Only to allow 3 cheap goals in those 5 minutes and the first goal of the last. The last Qtr was goal for goal.

Great to see a heap of ROCS lads staying around for a beer also.

was as expected very even up until half time, with PAC probably look slightly the better team, but UNI were stopping PACs run through the midfeild. neither team was using the right side of the feild and thus both having tough shots at goal.
the 3rd quater was still pretty close with the PAC actually kicking with the breeze and only slightly getting ahead. Bratton went down with a shoulder for the blacks so they had one less midfeilder. But the Blacks had no one to cover Thomas and Byrne both in the same FF line. where as PAC seemed comfortable with UNI's forwards (McEntee didnt play).
PAC only really kicked away at the start of the last quater with UNI actually kicking a couple late through the big bald bloke. who also shanked one right in front.
all in all a very high standard of footy, with both teams having a few big name outs

I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Pretty quiet on this site at the mo.
Where is this season heading?
Are athelstone going to struggle this year?
Are payneham in some trouble?
Will PT districts be a top two team?
Will rostrevor lose a game?

ROCS have copped Modbury, who are by their own admission struggling at the moment. and athelstone who dont seem to be too flash either. i reckon they will lose their fair share, potentially this week! iggies should get a couple of there better players back into the 1s this week after paying a couple in the 2's.
i also heard from a Walkies bloke that willoghby killed them last week, but wasnt in the best?? bit of funny buggers going on?? or did the advertiser justscrew it up like they tend to do?

PNU will be 4th-6th imo

Districts have had the same two teams in the first two rounds; so hard to gauge where they are at. This week should let a few teams know where theyre at.

correct! i reckon Pt districts vs PAOCFC and ROCS vs IGGIES will both be a goal or 2 either way.

Early signs show that the top 5 this year will be almightily close and hard to predict, and relegation teams will be unlucky to go down too....it would be ironic if walkies, athelstone, payneham, modbury, and pt districts all missed out on finals and left an almighty college/uni battle for supremacy for the GF spots! I spose its way too early to call flag favourites etc, but i reckon SPOC may be dark horses!
Either way this division is a very exciting prospect in 2011!
