Not sure if there is any Heccie B Graders on here but just wanted to get the message out once again that the game this Saturday will commence at 11:30am.
This has been done to give them time to get back to Daly Oval.

Yes all B graders were informed of the early start last night. Hopefully they can get up and then come support the A grade!

Hectorville vs Lockleys

The Demons go into this game with a line-up very similar to that of the one that knocked off Colonel Light Gardens in Round 13 and appear close to full strength apart from an unlisted Kane Stewart who has bobbed up with a few goals throughout the season. The Hounds bring an underdone Olsen into the side, but only need to play him from the goalsquare to have influence. Ocenasek, who has been in very good form, seems to be out of the side and is a notable loss for Hectorville.

The Lockleys forward line doesn't have any big bodies or big names, they have shared the workload this year with four of them kicking thirty or more. They are quite young though and are unlikely to dominate a game against a top five side, particularly if playing on disciplined defenders who can maintain touch all day. They won't like the close checking and my tip is the Lambos lads will take two of the smaller forwards, one being Mickan, and do a good job nullifying their influence. At the other end the man mountain Bentley provides a very good target particularly against the light-framed Demons, but the question remains, who will go to him? Voyzey has been in good form and could take him and although not having the weight to go body on body, has the smarts and agility to beat him aerially. Intriguing match-up. Olsen and Howson will need to contribute goals for their side to get over the line, but the former is lacking match fitness and the latter has been up and down all year.

Lockleys are likely to have the edge in the ruck department and will get plenty of run from their midfield and wings, however, they prefer to play receiver type football and would be hoping the oval has drained well and that the showers stay away. If the game is a bit wet and the Hounds can apply enough pressure to account for their opposition's easy handballs to loose players then I think they can win this midfield battle. Hectorville would not want Lockleys ball carriers bringing the ball forward with little or no pressure (which they have done at home all year) as they have good foot skills to give leading forwards ample opportunities.

Will the weather allow for a free flowing game that Lockleys can dominate? Can the Hounds finally gel and play the footy everyone has expected?

Haven't had a chance to see the oval, but I think it's still holding some water and there is a slight chance of showers on Saturday. Hounds will get the match-ups right in defence and their forwards could prove troubling for Lockleys. If Heccies play to instruction they'll get up in a close game, under two goals.

Oh I nearly forgot - CONGRATULAIONS must go out to Charlie Wintle and Dean Anderson who have both been reappointed as A and B grade coach respectively. It will be Charlie's 3rd year at the club and Deano's 6th. Well done guys! =D>

Great news for the club, Charlie is a quality coach, hopefully this puts em all in a good mood for the finals.

Well then I guess he coaches us in Division 6???? It's not that hard to work out is it?

The players wanted both coaches there next year and the committee offered them the position. It gives us stability going into next year and stops higher clubs from sniffing around
