As far as footy goes right now not much more than the oval line marker (best marked oval in the assoc just quietly), and ump when required, apart from that justa player and supporter.

Moreso involved with cricket.

Why do you ask?

Because you level a lot of criticism quite publicly at your playing group.

I dont know if its a lot.

I'm just of the old school even though i'm only 28: i still believe players don't need to wear slacks to be good footballers, players in div 5 shouldnt be put up on pedistals, and out-the-back handball is still the best gameplan going about. I support plympton, i love the place, GGF founded the place. But i'm also realistic about things.

I think its laughable how a lot of guys on here make rediculous statements like 'we won and we had 20 blokes out' or 'we had 150 on the track last night', coz you pretty much read that and take it with a grain of salt. I'd like to think that(when serious) most of my comments are actually based on meaningful thoughts about how a side is or isnt going.

I like to have a bit of a joke on here also, and stir up some ****, but generally when taling about the team, or the club, i thionk im pretty much delivering some meaningful comment on what is happening.

I'm not referring to your comments on slacks. Whether your comments are meaningful or not, I'm always a little stunned when you question the heart of your own playing group publicly.

Is there an injury that you've sustained or work committments that have seen you retired at 28?

But as it's up for discussion now... A player havin a few on a friday night... I would have thought a DIV 5 footballer can pretty much do as he pleases??? IMO that is... if the club don't like it, they should do something about it!

Surely as long as said player rocks up in black slacks then all is forgiven, because the main thing is being in black slacks.

Don't worry about getting a kick, get yourself to roger david and score yourself some black slacks.

I do agree with u that wearing black slacks doesnt help u get a kick but what is has done is change a discipline in a club that was lacking before Payney got there. And if this discipline filters thru to other on field things at the A grade level and then even lower down then to me I understand why. I do remember though when I was at Uni having a laugh with the lads when Kilburn players rocked up in a shirt and tie(elastic around the neck ones)

A few knee injuries cut short a stellar career. + a few too many beers. + im only semi-retired.

With regard to your other point, i dont think ive commented on heart directly (although i may have but cant remember).

Look at th eend of the day im just calling it as i see it, and i personally would much rather read abotut hat from people than the rest of the chest thumping, tyre pumping, trumpet tooting rubbish which makes its way onto here.

There have been plenty of occasions where i have made positive comments about PFC on here and C5 forum, but im not the sort of person to just make comment when things are going well, gotta take the good with the bad.

Sope people on here wanna make thier clubs out to be perfect, i make our club out to be just like any other club, with some flaws, peaks and troughs, etc etc.

Just would like to announce that 'Grumpy' Watson has passed away. Served EFC for many years through good times and bad.

There will be memorial drinks at Argana Park tonight. I know a few blokes on here know him well, please come have a drink for him

Duncs, please pass on my regards to Pat (and tell her I'll give her an extra big hug next time I see her).
A great servant of the club and should be remembered as such.

Just heard the sad news, condolences to Pat and the Elizabeth footy club, Graham was definately a tireless worker for the club. I will always remember a couple of Mordialloc trips and a couple of assoc trips to Melbourne as well as the odd Bradman Medal where a good time and laugh was had by all.

RIP Grumpy

Hey! well i hope everyone enjoyed the mid season break. I know i did it gave me a chance to spend a nice weekend with the mrs.

So now lets start getting back into each other about how good our sides are and how much the umpires cheat and how crap the SAAFL administration is!!!!!

Does everyone still agree with the poll at the top of the page that Plympton are going to win the Flag. I firmly believe that at this point it is down to 4 teams and any one of the 4 can win it on their day.

I'm a bit bored at work today so I thought I'd do a little write up on what looms to be round of the season so far, I don't think you could pencil in any winners confidently.
Elizabeth vs Plympton
Elizabeth will be desperate to get this win back after the round 1 disappointment, especially being played at Argana Park where Plympton have played well previously. A win will keep the victors in the top 4, a loss could see someone drop out of the 5.
Plympton have had a disappointing front nine by their standards losing critical home games and basically under-performing. They are a better side than 4-5 one would assume, they just haven't put it on the scoreboard yet. They are a class side and have plenty of depth, they haven't been belted in any of their losses and could quite easily have had a far better win/loss ratio, this game will be a cracker.
North Haven vs Blackfriars
Last time they met Blackfriars took the honours by the solitary point at a neutral venue, this time North Haven will be keen to make amends on that and keep their season alive slightly. A loss and they will be staring relegation in the eyes.
Blackfriars on the other hand have to stand up, a win will see them with a slim finals chance still, a loss could see them lose valuable ground on the next group and relegation could start being a reality. Blackfriars tend to play well away from home and North Haven tend to play their ground very well, this will be another great battle.
Smithfield vs Hope Valley
Two evenly weighted sides, both are capable of turning it on yet can put in the occaisonal shocker. Smithfield coming off a hat-trick of wins have their tails up and will be full of beans after a break and a playing at home again. A win will keep that dreaded "R" word at bay for the time being in this tight competition.
Hope Valley have no problems playing at Smithfield Oval and will venture down with confidence again one would think. Sitting 3rd with a 6-3 record they have every right to be smiling at the moment, they've won some challenging matches so far and are only a few wins away from cementing a finals appearance. Sportsbet would have this at $1.85 each.
Adelaide Lutheran vs Hectorville
Lutheran were the first team to have to face Heccies at Daly Oval this season, the 40 point loss looks quite flattering now that others have ventured there. With their season hanging in there just, this will be one game that they would love to get over the line with to keep their finals and double chance alive.
Hectorville have been the powerhouse so far and will be keen to keep the juggernaut going, with only the one blemish early in the season to the skillful Eagles at Argana Park they seem to be a well oiled machine at the moment with plenty of run and scoring options.
Rosewater vs Brahma Lodge
Rosies re-juvenated their season last week with a somewhat shock win against Lutheran away from home. You can never under-estimate Rosewater, especially at their home deck. They will be hurting form the round 1 drubbing and come out firing to keep the finals opportunity well and truly alive and move well away from the relegation zone.
The Lodge haven't done too much wrong this season, beating Plympton away and only the two losses so far. They will need to be on their game for the clash with the hungry Dogs as it wont be handed to them on a platter. I'm sure they, along with all of the other teams enjoyed the week off and should be close to full strength for the back nine.

The ladder could look a number of different ways after this round, I can't see any games being a cake-walk.

A bit bored  Surely you'd have some work to catch up on after the long weekend??! Haha

Anyway, pretty much agree that most games will be close. Although I'd expect Brahma to give Rosewater a touch up. Rosewater is very similar to Brahma in terms of oval shape/size so it'll be like a home away from home for them.

I'll have a hectic afternoon no doubt. I rate Lutheran, for Rosies to knock them off on their home deck they must've found something. I wonder how long it's been since The Lodge played at Rosies , tough venue.

Dont know to much about Brahma
but know a few of the blokes at Rosies and some of those guys can play.
IF rosewater turn it on, they would be capable of beating any team in Div 5 I think!
just a matter of them actually turning it on.
