I would think thats a bit of a harsh statement. There have been plenty of games where we had spare players. Other games it just seems the stars align and a whole bunch cant make it due to work, family and injury.

As i have already said for most of the season numbers for the B grade have been very solid for training and game day but for some reason (perhaps because of a very poor season on the field) alot of players have just vanished.

Well we're not talking about the games where you've had plenty of spare players. We're talking about Round 18 which is the second time in 3 weeks that your B grade has forfeited. I feel sorry for your blokes who have done the hard yards all year only to be let down by others. These things happen at footy clubs unfortunately and most clubs have seen hard times, but I wonder if work, family and injuries are still excuses that would be used if your B grade was sitting 4th or 5th and had to win to make the finals.... :-k

Exactly. Same can be said about training attendance :?

I understand that and i can guarentee you that plenty of effort was made to put a side onto the field right up until this morning. Unfortunatly when you cannot get more then a maybe from some players and no answer from others it makes it difficult. If i could play two games to ensure that the B grade guys get a run i would and i also made this same offer in the rain against Lockleys. Unfortunatly with our current depth and the requirements of the game its not a risk the coaching staff are going to take and not one i suspect your coaching staff would take were you in the same position.

I have made a similar statement on many occasions throughout this year and more so in recent weeks. That goes without saying but we cant exactly drag those guys out to play either. If they dont want to play there isnt much we can do about it.

Your right it does raise questions about next year...the same questions probably being asked at quite a few amateur League clubs. Unfortunatly these are questions that cannot be answered right now....after this weekend and end of year presentations people will take off and we wont find out until late this year or early next year who is definitly coming back and who definitly isnt coming back. We know who we think will be back and we know who we all hope will be back but until they sign on for next year its all speculation.

If you could take out injury, family and work commitments and put your best 21 on the field then im sure we would be successful but this is the real world and that doesnt happen. Players move on which happened to us right before this season due to work commitments for some people and everything just doesnt gel.

No doubt it would be at other clubs but its only you guys in Div6 that we are worried with. The best 21 on the field? Thats biggest given quote of the year from a coaching perspective, the old if only.

They only need 14 to start the game. We could have given them the other 4. I'm sure The Bartman would have donned the yellow and black to help out his magoos!! :D

I would have done that and i rekon i would have stood... um yeah maybe Grunta!

I was asked to umpire last night. Reckon i owe SD some dodgey decisions after his tinass effort on the pool table the other week!

I dont think Browny has access to the internet today so he probably wouldnt repond.

Im a little surprised and dissapointed about the B grade forfieting. I thought we would have been able to scrape togeather a team given that its the final game of the season and a couple of inclusions into the A grade from last week. The core group of players in that side who turn up even though they are getting flogged week in and week out will be very dissapointed along with the B grade side for Hope Valley.

Dissapointing for your club mate. But I guess you can only do what you can.

On another note, how big is the match up at houghton! HUGE game!
