when you have 4 sides it can happen. 8 over 4 grades is not un heard of. Problems have been addressed. hopefully not happen again.
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Agree with Schimma, really easy to lose 8 players over 4 grades in two days.

We had I think 6 out of our A and B grade last week alone, then add the few that pulled out of ours in the C grade. We scraped together a D grade this week but would not have been our best line up I wouldnt think.

It's easy to lose 8 on a saturday morning from one team...
Certainly easy to do it with more than 3 sides.

Finn what's going on at Uni?

No trainer last Saturday, players wearing the wrong shorts, officials dressed incorrectly.

One of your players got hurt Saturday and our trainer went to attend as you didn't have one and he gave our trainer a mouthful and slagged off at our club.
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you, Port Adelaide Sturt. & Norwood You don't beat Glenelg in Grand Finals and get away with it.

I'm not that ignorant that I don't know that it is easy to lose that many players in one round...but shouldn't you know by the time you enter the teams?? SMOSH C grade entered 24 players, with only 3 from the D grade side playing, so it was not necessary for any D grade player to be called up.
And as I said in my first post, I'm incredibly surprised a club like SMOSH did not have enough/any past players, or friends of friends to play for one week.

They didnt supply an umpire against us a few weeks back, a few players had the nerve to call the guy doing it from our club a cheat, seems a bit rich when we have to supply both umpires and they then mouth off at them.

On the trainers, I have noticed a few times this year where players from opposition have gone down and the first to get there is our trainers. I believe we are spoilt by good trainers that will assist with both sides if needed but it has happened a few times against different sides that I did not expect.

Obviously we record everything in HD and then stream it on line to the throngs of people who care.

If you are talking about the 8 reserves game...

At least we had a bloody game.

The 8 and 8 reserves haven't got a trainer as we've only enough to do the top four sides. Volunteers are proving next to impossible to find this year as well. I believe that as long as the runner is that alluring yellow and drink folk in white tops, it is ok.

It's understandable why the guy slagged off in the 8 reserves but not excusable.

The Golden Grove game a few weeks ago was a debacle from whoa to go (losing players in the morning, others going to the wrong ground, umpire not turning up etc)- certainly being called a cheat was happening to both sides umpires and something I've addressed with my players.

Might pay to read appendix 7 of the SAAFL 2012 hand book pg 83 as your team broke most of the rules in regards to dress code for officials. Let alone the players wearing wrong shorts and almost no numbers on their jumpers.

I know volunteers are hard to find but we couldn't even find your match day official when a couple of your supporters where hurling foul abuse from the boundary line.

Any of the golden grove blokes know if your d grade is going field a side. Our guys are just desperate for a run before finals. Otherwise be no game for 3 weeks in a row, not ideal before finals.

Havens have a trainer who is paid but getting umpires has been the biggest problem, I reckon I have made about 1000 phone calls on that topic this season.
I have a problem. It's to do with the little man, the squashed-in French man, the naked little squashed up hairy boy! You know! With the hand feet

I would say they would get a side this week beef, unless something changes massively Thursday-Saturday, we should get a few back in the A and B grade this week and another 4 or 5 back into ours in the C grade so that should push guys down. We didnt forfiet last week Mitcham did, we had a side ready to play.

Don't get into the language game after the performance of broadies' 8 reserve bench. Nobody's club is perfect with regards to attire but it is div 8/8 reserve after all.

Fully appreciate it is tough to get volunteers to help out each week, however I think that if any side is to put a side in a comp then it should be compulsary that they provide a trainer for thier own team, a field, boundary and goal umpire. If that means you need to go with two less players to cover the boundary and goal umps then so be it. Pretty sure Broadview dont have thier own field umpires in Div 8/8R? and they have gone to the amateur league and they may have supplied one each week??

I am not a big fan of players missing out on the game to be the field umpire, but Brooks did a pretty good job against us for PAOC a few weeks back. If anything I think he leaned towards our way more than PAOC.

Why was it understandable for your Div8 res player to slag off the Broadview trainer?? He would not have anything to do with the reason he was injurred and if he was out there to help him I would say he should be thankful? If you cant supply a trainer, who is there to assess any injuries your players may get? You cant always rely on the opposition teams to do it. I just think that there is more to putting a team in a comp than getting a coach and players.

Tend to agree, have played many a game at Broadview and copped plenty from guys in front of the club. Especially when you play the late game there and the lads in the early have had a few cans. Copped plenty of lip on the field too ;)
