Its a fair and humerous point, but if one of the sfl clubs are clever they could jump ship now before shi#t hits the fan down south and take an initiative before brighton does. Time is now
marbles how does your 2012 Div 7 side compare to the 2011 Div 6 side?

Like i said in my previous quote, We are under no illusion that div 7 will be easy, but we will go down, rebuild and come back up a stronger unit. Its something that we need to do, no use accepting mediocrity............I think we are on the right track though.[/quote]

Mate, you should be a politician, i'd vote for ya. :-"

marbles there is a spare seat on the board at the AGM, you should nominate as you seem to have a wealth of knowledge and easy answers to complex questions

But since you are on a winning streak of finish bottom two last three years you should be able to stay up and give the 8 other teams a easy game each week.
Angle Vale would love for you to come down so we could show you what div 7 has to offer. and for the record if offered we would not go up, i believe you earn to go up like you earn to come down. But with Henely and TTG most likely not gunna head up to div 7 then i would say ingle farm gets another chance to stay in div 6 as the finished above Houghton.

At the risk of sounding rude, Div 7 is a very strong comp at the top end. I have coached finals in Div 1 res, and now finals in Div 7 and have not experienced a game like the one I coached in on saturday. Think a few would be surprised and our umpire was from Div 3 and asked after the game if Div 7 was always this standard because it surprised him. That's 2 years in a row now that umpires from higher levels have asked the same question. Mawson Lakes lost last years Div 7 GF remember. :D

Yank i understand what your saying there but i might also mention how tough and tight div 6 was this year. It was clear that anyone on there day had a chance of winning, regardless of who they were up against. I think if you look at the ladder this reflects that with 2 sides missing the top 5 with 10 wins

I think if Ingle Farm do go down for mine they would start favourites for season 2013 in div 7.

But as i have already said i like the league should stand tough right across the board top 2 up bottom 2 down no exceptions unless new sides enter or clubs fold.....

I understand how good Div 6 is Carey, make no mistake. All I'm saying is that the top 4 clubs in Div 7 would also be competitive. Unfortunately many of the clubs are their C grades and it gives them the option to stay down and hide behind the 'lack of quality players' rule. This year it will be similar because TTG have probably 8-10 who will retire at season end and I guess Henley would be similar. 2 up and 2 down is the right option but it ain't ever gonna happen down here. Thanx to the footy gods for us now being able to play in a Division where you don't get 'surprises' from Div 1 and Div 2 being thrown at you in big games.

HBF i agree with what you say rebuild and earn to go back up will make a stronger club but with Mitchell Park already going up i can not see Henley or TTG going up. Unless Houghton stay up and Farmers come down.

Angle Vale players do not want a free ticket to move up to div 6 as a new club they want to move up by winning a GF or playing in one.But committee might have another view.

Yank man div 6 will be good playing with clubs that only have A and B grade to as too much depth at the clubs who have c and d grades.

Make no mistake, Ingle Farm will compete in Div 7 in 2013.
Now enough about next year, lets turn our focus towards those still fighting for a flag.. thoughts people?

And so they should PG and will have a s.....t load of fun along the way. Woody Sth are there and will win the flag, if Trinity buy another final they should beat the Lakers who need more than 2 goalkickers to win.

I wouldn't know many of these guys from the blokes at the bar, but, there seems to be a bit of a skew of Central United players (5) with respect to where they finished, whereas there is only 4 from Woody South who finished top, 1 from top 3 Trinity and 2 from finalist Blackfriars.

Central United missed the 5 by percentage and beat every team above them in the 2nd half of the year. Better team than thier position tells us. Plus where does it say the top teams have to have more players in. If your the best player in that position then your in, no matter where your team finished. FWIW Ricky Mount, Great back pocket and one of our best for the year, rarely beaten, probably won't even rate a mention from anyone.

It was just an observation - thought it was odd. Ladder position is reflective of a team and having many contributors, TOTY is more reflective of individual brilliance. Perhaps after the 5 in carey's team they drop away drastically.
