Can't take anything away from Smithfield though, they were super. Joss and the gang will certainly be very happy with their performance. And speaking of Joss, he played a super game, he certainly is a very, very good footballer. I have no idea why we didn't tag him- we clearly should of.

Well done to the B grade getting up by 4 points. From what I saw it was a very good game.
Also to the C's winning by 9 points against Flinders Park after coming from a 32 point deficit at three quarter time, well done. We now of course have next week off and I'm sure the lads will enjoy the break and come back fresh to face Blackfriars in round 10.

Lightning it was good to meet you, I'm sure you are wrapped with your A grades performance.

On more of a lighter note, I never been at a football match were at quarter time someone does a massive snakie down the road near the oval. That is something I never expected to see at a game and now I have.

We played very well, we were too quick, ran in numbers and had plenty of marking options up forward, you guys didn't have an answer for Chris James who owned the 2nd quarter.
I was very impressed with your tackle on joss in the 2nd quarter, not many players ping him for holding the ball, he has excellent evasive skills, I was equally impressed with your positive talking on the way off at half time, it's great to see such leadership skills from a young fella, well done and good luck for the remainder of the season.
Yeah, the coppers would have a field day if they camped out on that road across from the oval, young fella's can't resist the temptation when they see a big crowd as they drive past to do a bit of showing off, it certainly went for a while.

Yeah North havens loss is a bit disappointing, make the back half of the year crucial if they want to avoid relegation. This may be made even more difficult with the likes of Ty MAD DOG Duerden heading overseas to get around hookers in Amsterdam. I understand that he did not play on Saturday, and judging by the score it seems his presence on the field was sorely missed. His passionate speeches and general persona may also b a big loss for the club and i hope he returns back as soon as possible

Hectorville
Brahma Lodge
Elizabeth
Hope Valley
Plympton

I mean really, Elizabeth should be equal with Hope Valley in 3rd position, and Plympton should be sitting in 8th, 1 game away from relegation, but I would expect Plympton's 2nd half of the season to be better with the return of Smith. If they make finals though, I think they'll get knocked out in the 1st round.

Have you been to any games mate.
Hectorville: Head and shoulders above the rest.
Brahma Lodge: Can be exposed, lost to Smithfield, still deserve to be 2nd favourite.
Elizabeth: Very skillful, a pretty old list though, will need to have a good run of injuries, lost to North Haven.
Hope Valley: Have only beaten the bottom two sides away from home.
Plympton: Have lost to Elizabeth(sort of) and BOS at home, and lost to Rosewater.

I'm not having a dig at you mate, although Smithfield and Rosewater haven't set the competition alight, they are still both very much in the hunt.
Away wins are going to be very crucial in the back nine, 6 teams fighting for 3 spots, if BOS string a couple together it will make it even tighter.

first thing first well done to h valley on the weekend good contest all day never give in at any stage and seem like a good bunch of blokes, and good on charlie for coming in and having a couple of beers after the game and a chat.

for me the final five
heccies- bloody good side that work so hard for each other, the real deal for sure.
blodge- play some real good footy at times, and not so good at other times getting coombs after the break and hooters back having his first a grade game since injury on the weekend will be a bonus for the side.
elizabeth- dont ride this side off plenty of experience and will feature heavily come finals. with platten, makris donnelly and one of the best players to play amautuer footy, in haliday they will be around the mark.
plympton-i must say i was very impressed with this side when we played them at there ground think they will come home stronger in the 2nd half of season. need smith firing though.
as for 5th spot i think it is between 3 teams lutheran, valleys and smithfield. and to be dead set honest i think it will almost come down to the last game of the year.we played lutheran early in the year when they didnt have there full list, played smitty at there ground and gee they were really good that day and deserved the win.and we played valleys on weekend and i thought they were good in patches but would still need to improve more on that and believe there run home is very tough for them but good enough for sure.

As for inexperienced, 10-12 of the blokes have played at least 3-4yrs of SNR footy together which is pretty good for such a young group. Also a very tight knit unit who play for each other, no heroes or mercenaries, just a close bunch of mates which I see as Heccies strongest quality overall.

Having a week to let is sink in that your Best avenue at goal is out, has to take affect. During a game you wouldn't think about it. but as you said the structure seem to pull it off well. whats the average age down their at daly oval, doesn't seem like to many blokes over 22-23?

Something along the lines of the St Kilda and Rievwolt effect  Average age would be around 22-23. Apart from Pauly Wootton at age 33

3. Plympton-Will pick up the slack a bit in the last half with Smith and Hibbard in the side.
4. Adelaide Lutheran- Could finish higher given they have their last 6 out of 9 games at home.
5. Elizabeth-To play in an Elimination final, if they make the 5, just finishing ahead of Smithfield.
6. Smithfield- I reckon they'll make a huge push for finals in the last half of the year.
7. Hope Valley- Had some big losses against the higher place sides, that trend could continue.
8. Rosewater- Avoiding relagation.
9. North Haven- We will not finish bottom and if we had some luck we could finish 8th, I hope.
10. Blackfriars OS- To finish bottom just below us.

Div 5R
Elizabeth 23.08 146 v 02.03 15 Blackfriars OS

Anyone from either Elizabeth or Blacks shed some light on what happened in the b grade? I thought Elizabeth would win but did not think they would do it so easily. Especially with all the talk about Elizabeths injuries.

i think blacks are struggling atm and we were outstanding , pressure, tackling and all the 1 percenters were outstanding and played 4 quarters for a change

Given it is the middle of the season, how do people see Elizabeth travelling, and also how do they see the ex-south gawler boys? Have they made a difference? Will they get them to Div 4 do you think?

from what i hear Elizabeth had 5 trial games before the season started so they really hit round 1 ready to go but that also makes for a long season of footy and as we have seen injuries will play a part.

I think they will make finals but in what shape we don't know!

Plympton V Elizabeth should be a very interesting game in a fortnight

Wasn't having a dig at anyone mate. From results and form I just would have thought Hectorville, BL, HV & Elizabeth should all make finals. And any of those 4 clubs that don't I would think would feel pretty disappointed given the 1st half of the season they've had.

I think 5th spot is the one that's up for grabs and there are a few clubs in the running for it, Smithfield and Rosewater included, but I wouldn't expect both of them to make the 5. And like i said, I expect Plympton to take that 5th spot, as I think the 2nd half of their season will be better than their 1st, as a couple players return and their new players gel with old ones and they all work out how to play with each other.

Start of the season I had Elizabeth as my premiership favourites but it's hard to go against Hectorville at the moment.

Would be a shame to see BOS go down, as I think they are better than what their results are showing at present.

custard summed it up very well. our lads were the complete opposite of elizabeth. as goal ump on saturday i saw it from one end only but gives an interesting perspective. we were smashed all over the ground. 3 blokes i reckon could hold their head up and say they had a crack out of 21. seem to also have a number who maybe just have something better to do at 12.15 on a saturday when things aren't going all that well.
still 9 games to go, anything can happen.

Yeah the 11 to 1 goal second quarter certainly didn't help our cause, set the game up for you guys.

Cheers LM that tackle has been one of my very few personal highlights for the year, hope I have a few more. When I saw him coming towards me I thought, Here we go I'm in here, this is going to be a challenge. I was lucky cos got him, he broke off and then I was lucky enough to grad hold again and ping him, just. I have to be positive and talk I'm one of our vice captains....

And the snakie- stupid by quiet good, he has certainly practiced a fair bit. :D

Another thing I forgot to mention before, your ground the surface is in a great condition. It's nice and big to, plenty of space to run around in. Certainly one of the best grounds I've played on.
