Plympton vs Hectorville: Despite me thinking that Hectorville is a cut above everyone else atm I think they'll take a bit to adjust to not having Olsen up forward. It seems as though Heccies jump out of the blocks and blow the opposition away early and Plympton might be able to thwart this. Heccies still have plenty of other fire-power up forward though but the Red Dogs have too much on the line this week and i think they'll get up by 13 points in an upset.

Elizabeth vs Blackfriars: The Eagles will be pumped after last weeks surprise loss to the Havens, the heavy Argana Park oval will work in their favour with their bigger bodies. It wont surprise me if BOS do cause an upset here as they tend to travel well and have enough pace and stamina around the ground to wear opposition out. I'll go with the home side by 20 points.

Adelaide Lutheran vs Rosewater: Lutheran just seem to be humming along nicely gaining momentum each week and I can't see this week being any different despite Rosies handy inclusion. Rosies have a good balance of height, pace, aggression and experience but it wont be enough in the South Parklands this week, Lutheran by 35 points.

Brahma Lodge vs Hope Valley: The Lodge will bounce back strongly after last week's loss and the Valleys will find it difficult on the tricky Lodge oval. I wouldn't think too many Valley boys would've played there before and it take some getting used to with the wind travelling in all directions. The Valleys wont be disgaced though and will stay in the mix as a contender as I think the Lodge will get up by 29 points.

Smithfield vs North Haven: Can the Havens cope without cult hero Ty "Mad Dog" Duerden this week, I think not on a road trip out to Smithfield Oval. The Panthers are finding their feet and begining to adjust well to Joss' game plan and expectations. It should be an entertaining game with a lot of youth and pace on show, given the home ground I think Smithfield will have the edge for most of the game and kick away late with a few to stretch it out to 40 points.

Good Luck to all sides this week, I'm sure I'll end up with egg on my face with some of my selections, I had a mixed bag last week, one exacto but a couple of way off's aswell.

Great write up.

Consider yourself unlucky LM not being able to see the Mad Dog in action it's quite a sight. Unfortunately he's off to Rome very soon as a part of his Teachers degree I think. It's a big loss for us though, he has been playing really well the last 2-3 weeks and it's unfortunate he has to leave us. That won't stop from hearing about the adventures of Mad Dog one would think, I'm sure Super Steve will be all over it. ;)

how will heccies fare without olsen up forward? Surely blow out their structure. Very inexperienced side whose run is winning them games. Against Plympton who have some good 'old' heads in their team may be to smart if they can keep possession off them. not forgetting who was tipped to take it out post season. Result will be good to see come sat arvo!

Well the structure worked alright after he got injured last week!
As for inexperienced, 10-12 of the blokes have played at least 3-4yrs of SNR footy together which is pretty good for such a young group. Also a very tight knit unit who play for each other, no heroes or mercenaries, just a close bunch of mates which I see as Heccies strongest quality overall.

olsen went down i think half way through the game, and there on ballers are capable of kicking goals with rotation across half forward and broadbent goes under the radar a bit

no heroes know that olsen is out of the team  heccies have had a very similar squad since darren took over 4 years ago. a lot of the players then were 18-19 and have gained a lot of experience during that time. oldest player in the team now is 25/26yrs old i think.

should be a good match 2moz. teams love beating the top team and i think plympton will have a lot more confidence in themselves with hibberd n smith back.

Having a week to let is sink in that your Best avenue at goal is out, has to take affect. During a game you wouldn't think about it. but as you said the structure seem to pull it off well. whats the average age down their at daly oval, doesn't seem like to many blokes over 22-23?

Hows the appeal going for Elizabeth for the round 1 result?? If it goes back in favour of the eagles that puts Plympton 3-6 and 1 game from relegation    . If anybody told me that prior to round 1 i'd seriously laugh at them!!! I'm sure they will turn it around in the 2nd half of the year.
