They didnt spit on the umpire... just at his feet!

But I do agree.

I didn't really want to comment on this at all, but I have to back Browny up on this as I was a couple of metres from it when it happened.

There are some people commenting on a summarised statement of the incident that has been misinterpreted.

The player wasn't trying to spit on the umpire, he was 2 metres from him and spat at his feet in front of himself as a sign of disgust and disrespect. Still likely to get games when combined with the mooning and additional abuse, but a different ballpark to actually spitting on the ump and hardly worth a life ban as some have suggested.

Fair enough.

I can't really put up a team for TotY mate, as I moved back from interstate a month ago and have only seen Hope Valley, West Croydon, Houghton and Brahma play.

I can only comment on players from those teams and WOS, so it would be a pretty ridiculous side really.

I think as a player its pretty difficult to come up with a team of the year as we only see every team twice.... I also think its a little pointless, its div 6 football!! I have said this before but I dont know how the rest of you come up with a team, have you seen every team play more than 3 or 4 times? If so then maybe you have some judgement, but if your only going by what the paper says and what others comment on here about their team mates then.... well.

Thats my opinon 8)

Thanks, the player in question did have his back turned and then turned around to spit "at disgust", but it probably doesnt make it any better.

Was very out of character aswell.

It's not hard to get an idea of the best performing midfielders, forwards and defenders within each team, every coach should have a good idea of their opposition's key players. However, I have no expectation for other people on here to post a team of the year, I could only do one thanks to my unhealthy obsession with amateur footy, this division and my opponents.

We thought we would be more competitive too, but you can't plan for absences and injuries and you never know what other teams are going to bring to the table.

Either moved too far away or just decided to have a year off.

75% of A grade are new players this year.

That's quite a turnover, you'd be hoping that they don't decide to move on again.

Perhaps, but only when the body packs it in. Always observing and analysing for future reference.
