Those umpires!!!

One of our spectators told the umpire that he was a "moron" so he gave the WOS player a free kick in the goal square.... Imagine if this happened every week? (Especially at Brahma Lodge!)

Can umpires do that??

I wouldnt have thought so but they were making up the rules as they went...

That would be a good game, although I think it might be WOS v Valleys...provided Valleys don't have to meet them on the way..

dont rate clg footy chick? if we win this weekend we get the week off, then a home final, winner goes straight through to the grand final, lose and we play at home again the week later?

have you seen us play this year?

no didnt think so

Actually I have.. albeit only once, which is the same amount Ive seen WOS, the fact CLG is on top of the ladder doesn't instantly give them a Grand Final berth.

I didn't say I don't rate CLG, I just think WOS is a more finely tuned side, and I reckon Valleys are a dark horse....I'm not keen to write them off.

How convenient

I wasn't at the WOS vs BL match on the weekend so I can't comment on what happened.

I can however confirm that one of the BL players is up for 'attempting to strike an umpire'.

Again, it's hard to comment but one would think if you attempted to strike him it would not be that difficult to do so. From what I know there was no contact made so it was probably more of an intimidating ploy – how many weeks is that worth??

I think if he can prove he was only trying to intimidate the ump he will be looking at the 15 games to a season but if he was trying to hit the ump it will be much longer than that.

Im sure we had these umpires a few times  . I know SAAFL/SANFL are in need of umpires and these are the only ones they have but they should be made to sit knowledge tests or do more training courses cause the umpiring standard i have seen in div 6 and in div 7 is terrible, and that comes from someone that really doesnt even know the rules very well! Think they should also have to retire before they are 90, and going blind. Well done to these guys for still sticking around and copping the shit they do week in week out but i do think frustration towards these umpires from players, coaches and supporters is only going to get worse if the SAAFL/SANFL doesnt start monitoring the standard of umpires they are sending to games.

It is going to be an interesting finals series for sure. I think on their day any team is capable of beating any of the others but from what I have seen this year i would rate Wos as the team to beat.

Dont know how you guys train out there at night it is so cold down at CLG oval. I realise the rain prob made it 10 times worse but it always seems so cold there. He is ok or i should say he is doing much better now wasnt so good when it happened, the hospital said they dont think it is broken but lots of swelling so they have to wait for that to go down to re xray it! I'll be surprised if it isnt broken it looked horrible i didnt even attempt to touch it just sent him straight to the hospital. Hospital said they think the cartilage has just taken a big knock and been pushed to the side.

Im sure he has some impressive black eyes by now
