Adelaide Footy League Talk

Tip Payneham to beat Modbury. Modbury getting too far ahead of themselves, and i reckon players will still be in beating Kilburn mode and get blown out the water early and won't come back in time.

we were so close yet so far away.... that'll learn us for allowing them to get 8 goals ahead...great game and went down to the wire at the end, i believe there'll be some footage on the Roots this week (not of me I hope)...

Good on the mods for swooping on the crap around here fairly quickly btw...bloody trolls

Just for anyone interested,

Adam Rumbelow has left Port Districts and gone back to Rosewater.

Said he couldn't stand seeing them in their state and thought he owed it to them to go back.

Cant see no one beatin us down at Pt districts this year.

Have smashed everyone so far and will win the flag without loosing a game

Anyone thinking Modbury or the Seaton shockers beatin us this year are just kiddin them selves

The mighty Disticts will be undefeated premiers and back in A1 where we belong

Modbury, Seaton wankers, PHos, SHoc etc, etc are just crap sides and we will beat em by more than 8 goals in any game.

Haha, well that theory is screwed after one whole week.

Flinstones is an absolute dreamer and i wouldnt have thought he was actually involved at Districts. Doesnt sound like a comment coming from a player or a commitee member. I know districtsa are arrogant but that is what won Pt Maggies alot of Grand finals, you cant hold that against them, but flinstones comments sound more like someone trying to stir shit then an actual fact. Modbury, Districts, Seaton, Shocs & PHOS are all good sides and the finals should be more than interesting. I think if Districts go undefeated they will bow out in finals, too much pressure to carry!!!

I'd think PNU would go close to playing finals as well...

Speaking of PNU, I ran into Jess McLennan(sp?) at the Ale House on Saturday night FC, seemed like a decent bloke and was enjoying his time at PNU and spoke very highly of McIntosh as a coach. Will he play in the ones anytime soon?

hopefully he gave his trainer a good wrap too..

Obvoiusly not my call as to whether he'll get a call up, and unfortunately we have anywhere from 4-6 players coming back from injury after the break, He has a pretty dodgy driver too, I think Macca would want to see some consistant solid perfomances before he'd be considered... top bloke though...

Kicking @ goal probably had a bit to do with it really - Modbury hit the front with about 3 to 4 mins to go yet Disticts hit back and won.

In the wash up Districts are a very good side yet Modbury showed that they can be beaten.

Yeah, heard that from someone that watched the game. Apparently Districts were already warming up at that end when Modbury came out, said it was THEIR end and started warming up the same end!! Normally it seems first onto the ground picks the end to warm up at, or home team gets the end closest to their change rooms.

As for the game, my mate said the oval was an absolute mud pit in the centre, and there was about an inch of water all over the ground!! I assume Districts couldn't play their quick running game with such a boggy ground. Will be interesting to see how they go back at Largs after 3 away games.
