for all the henley people out there, make sure that in the future you guys don't recruit ex juniors to play at your club. especially those who have played league football (because that would be selfish). also make sure you don't pay your players. just let potential recruits go off to your opposition and let them become stronger than you. also, don't ever talk about possibly winning a premiership or making that your goal for the year (like most sides do) because you haven't won a grand final in div 1 for a while and you are apparently chokers.
in order to satisfy a few of the mongaloid posters we have on this site, make sure you pay attention to this.
do these things, drop down a few divisions (roughly to where seaton are sitting), and then maybe guys like NM and others will get off your back

Im not from Scotch but I believe that Sturt cut a lot of their fringe players who were then able to go out and negotiate with clubs other than Scotch

Gaza was in there and got a few

Why play for Scotch when you can get $100 - $200+ playing at other clubs?

That's why Scotch had to go down to D3 after they initially said they would stay up

Might get our juniors back but we are not a "preferred" club to them, and if it wasn't for Roey's link with Jars, nought would have happened. It's always been Broadview or Gaza. They even have told some of our juniors in the past to go to club X because that's who the NA club recommends.
We struggle to get much at all from them to be honest with you, we are getting more from Centrals than we've ever got from our zone club NAFC. We can't even get a rep to come for a free meal and our food is very good!

Gaza have always had a reasonably strong link with North. This can be attributed to Andrew Jarman.

I haven't been on here long bird of prey, but I know what to expect when I see NM name pop up on the left of the screen. Dumb, fake, rubbish talk. I love it how he goes, "thats what i heard when i was down there." Sure ya did buddy

I think one Gepps junior actually went to another club in '09!
(He went to play finals and missed out. The team he left got there)
So, over the last 3 years, 60 came & 10 left.

Nothing wrong peanut in getting your ex juniors back to your club once they have retired from League footy or they get the ar$e from their SANFL club coz they aint good enough to go any further, i aint got a problem with that.
What i do hate though is seeing young players that have a bright future at SANFL level being encouraged or $weet talked out of the SANFL by their local Amateur club for selfish reasons only.

For some the ultimate goal was never to play SANFL - it was AFL. When they see that will never happen, then the next objective is to enjoy football with their mates. Each person is different, but maybe the SANFL isn't as prestigious as it once and SAAFL seems like the better option, play with your mates, commitment being about half and being a big fish in a small pond. Maybe some do leave for money, but my belief is that the large majority of young players leave for different reasons.

Ken McGregor was too slow for SANFL these days plus had work issues, and speak to any Eagle supporter and they will tell you Sam Fairclough was in the end not up to it.

The fact they WANT to come back to their junior club should be praised, not condemned by people like "No Mercy" who really have no idea what they are talking about!

I think your right here in saying the large majority of young players do leave for different reasons & outsides are always going to think what they believe is correct (and most people tend to think money). I haven't heard of too many players calling up clubs and scouting themselves, it is usually the other way round - therefore if you have a 20ish year old player fresh out of school or Uni & a club throws some money at them, 9 times out of 10 their going to accept it. I think NM you may be blaming the player, when in fact the responsibility lies with the clubs. I have never heard of a club paying more for a player than what they think there worth at the start of the season ( most times though it is more than they can afford)...

How can the blame lie with anyone? this is pretty humerous. A player says they've had enough of SANFL and clubs offer them money to play for them. Pretty standard I would of thought. Responsibility does not lie with the club, or the player, its mutual. Of course a junior is going to be tempted to go back to their old club after SANFL. NM is just having a cry that so many good players are going back to henley. Its not our fault we breed em so well when they're young! Sack up ya cry baby NM
