Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

We have plenty of parking FC our main car park holds at least 50 cars plus the hill on the outer plus behind the goals at the southern end which is more than most clubs I have been too. All up over 100 cars. Fair size I would have thought considering where we are.

Good, can you save me a park then? I'll be there about 1.45pm ;)

Also, do you have any half time entertainment planned? If not, I'd like to organise a nudie run by one G.Weasel as per my signature below ;)

Maybe this is a question I should ask GG committee, but our ground is fully fenced (which FC has said is a prerequisite) out at Harpers but is not utilised for any GF's. Do clubs have to apply to SAAFL HQ to host GF's??

This is not a crack at the clubs hosting just a curiosity. Am sure I can name other grounds that are fenced but not utilised. Just seems the same clubs get to host GF's each year, therefore the chance to earn extra $$$$.

This was the question I asked several years ago but was told no even if we put up a fence. So kept asking now with a change in operations at the league we have been granted a chance and are working very Bloody hard to make it a success.

Why should the same clubs get finals every year that was the original reason behind home finals. Every body gets a share of the money just not certain clubs. One club president at the time when home finals came in told me I was taking money away from his club by doing this. I advised that he had a self interest here and to look at the big picture more money going to other clubs is a good thing just because you have a fence shouldn't give you a monopoly on finals. Since home finals started finals attendance has increased as well as finals cash returns to the league. Every ones a winner

There will be a hell of a lot more than 100 cars heading your way. The council will have a field day around the streets if they want.

Ultimately, creating the best spectacle and experience for players and supporters should be the #1 priority when selecting GF venues. Having one side of the ground with no spectators, for example, wouldn't achieve this IMO. Things like enough shelter for supporters in case of rain or extreme heat, changerooms, clubroom space, toilets, catering, parking, oval surface and size etc should all be what the decision is based on. (this is not a shot at any clubs, just an opinion)

Hosting a day takes a hell of a lot of volunteers, a lot of work before and on the day, as well as a decent layout of money leading up. Just for our liquor license extension, we've had to hire two extra security guards as well as three sets of portable toilets. Not cheap. We will make it back but there is a hell of a lot of lead-up work and if a club has a team in a GF elsewhere it is almost impossible.

Seen many grand finals and Salisbury, Kilburn and Kenilwoth in terms of atmosphere are very good venues. Providing weather permits Kenilworth can hold a shit load of cars and I don't think any permanent fenced venue in the SAAFL could hold more. When that ground is full on GF day and a big goal is scored the noise is hair raising....
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?
