They lost 5 of their first 6 games before going on a 16 game winning streak to take the flag with an average winning margin of 66pts in the minor round and 106pts in the the finals. In 2003 they moved to the old Woodville Districts ground in 2003 and were still known as the Glandore Eagles where they finished in 3rd place at the end of the finals series in an incident pact Preliminary Final at Kilburn Oval against SMOSH West Lakes. In 2004 they finished 9th in D4 and were now known as the Kaurna Eagles and were relegated to D5 where they finished 10th and then were relegated to D6 for the 2006 season in which they only played practice matches during the season as no score was recorded in any matches they played in in both A & B Grade matches. The club was further relegated to D7 for the 2007 season where once again they failed to win a match in either grade. The club disbanded at the end of the 2007 season. The club played the last 3 years of its existence at Mawson Lakes Oval 2005-07

That was the worst game i have ever been part. At Kilburn prelim final. Michael long was a hero of mine and i walked out to stand him. his words ya better have eyes on the back of ya head. Smosh won the game by a few goals, lost ruckman with a broken cheek bone, lost the captain with a busted ear and about 4 or 5 others with concussion. Long and Warrior walked into the rooms after the game and wished us luck in the GF. Lucky we won the GF against Salisbury the following week
As for eastern park. sorry but rules are rules. take ya medicine. In the late 90's early 00's smosh went from div 2 to div 4 in straight years. took our medicine and worked way back up

My understanding is they had already had a "soft" ride from then GM and SAAFL admin at the time regarding certain financial obligations in order to continue playing and not suspended. Post that Prelim final against SMOSH WL given what had transpired they were still treated with "kid gloves" for their acts of "thuggery" on and off the field. The king hit merchants that day had disappeared so were given a few matche in abstensia and that was that.. Should have been banned for life IMO. I agree with you Schimma......Great player Michael Long, but on that day he should have practiced what he so ardently preached and bitched about when someone served it up to him during his prime days. Also agree with Footy Smart in that no one was probably sad to see Kaurna fold..... for some, more a case of good riddance....

Well said Bubba...

Modbury also dived to Div 5 and went straight up to Div 1, also doing it the hard way. Surely the league wouldn't allow this to happen. You lose players and push on regardless, EP has a good junior structure and it wouldn't take long. How embarrassing would it be if they went to Div 4 then straight up to Div 1 in 4 years.

Can I just say thay although I am not involved at a committee level I do know this proposal was only a discussion point to ascertain the best direction of the club to ensure its longevity. As I have previously posted I clearly stated in would be totally up to the member clubs of the SAAFL and the club has no issue in following their decision. The club is not looking for a "free" ride in anyway.

If it was only a discussion point why would you need other member clubs to make a decision. I'm confused, has EP requested to be in D4 or not?

Yes
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

to early for any club to even ask to drop down from 3-4 if this did happen what would stop eastern park from buying few good players and dominate div 4 instead of struggling in div 3

The SAAFL have disappointed me in the past by allowing Glandore to drop and I can tell you anyone that played against them in Divi 5 that year wasn't happy about it, so despite requests they need to maintain the integrity of the Divison system, that is the whole point of it, Take Kilburn, for example, had to endure some years of Pain and came out the other end, also as mentioned Woody South, have done it tough in recent times, but have copped it.

I don't know a lot about Eastern Park, and no offence is intended but But Good clubs with Stong leadership do not accept dropping divisions, they Draw a line in the sand at some point and launch again, Eastern park need to do that by themselves.

Fact: we didn't win a game this year, so we get relegated, We aren't happy about it, but we lick our wounds and dust ourselves off and get on with it, But know this We would absolutley choose to stay in Division 3 before any thought of dropping to Division 5.
Sorry people I only deal in facts!

And the thing with Kilburn is that they took the option to go up to Div 2 when Edwardstown left to the Southern Footy League as they finished 3rd in Div 3. Then after taking the spot in the higher grade they started their slide down the divisoins. And now. . . . well let Nearly Was, Slippery Gypsy and/or Chuman tell us about their last two glorious years again ;)

Current financial position would stop this. I understand the club is looking at continuing to promote their juniors not chasing players who have in the past only played for the almighty dollar. No issues to those players/clubs who can get it, good luck to them.
