You cannot forfeit your 3rd side and still play your 4th side. Goodwood did it back in 1996.
They forfeited their C Grade against us but played their D Grade. Thier C grade were almost bottom but their D Grade were 3rd. They swapped players around in hope of a flag and were slapped over the wrist with a wet bus ticket by the SAAFL and told not to do it again. The Rules and Regs were changed accordingly at seasons end.
The outcome will be interesting???????????

Any news on this? We have CBCOC this week. Its a triple header and would hate for it to happen again.

Mitcham got a call on the Friday arvo before their game against CBC and were told they only had 14 players so it would be wise to give them a call thursday night if you've got a triple header planned or let their B's play 2 games :)

We have played a number of games with low numbers like that. Once we had on 14 players. We never asked that the opther side fielded the same numbers. We kept playing. Seriously after training all week and then getting ready the night before you would hate to find that sort of news out. I know there are a lot of changes that can go on before a game including selection on Thursday nights and changes with players going up into the 2's or even higher if needed. Realy if you have a club with various grades playing you would think the higher grades would take precedent over lower? Honestly we havent had a D grade for some years now so we dont have this problem but when you bust your guts trying to fill a side and then get told the other cant fill theres but fill their lower grade sides as priority. That has to be looked into.

also pretty sure this is the first year cbc have had a C grade ever?? certainly for a while anyway so think they are still finding the player base a stretch with injuries. but yeah as you say its a pain for whoever playing against them not knowing if you'll get a game.

Especially seeing that in a few weeks time you dont play again for another 6 months. Im lost on a Saturday in the off season. Ideally you want to play each and every day you can. More so towards the end when you know its about to rap up.

Huge day for us on the weekend. You may say so what as we are the bottom two teams and so on....But having to cop mainly 3 point losses on a few occasions and then getting smacked from post to post in others. OUr guys dug deep and to beat these guys by 6 points after earlier in the year we were up by 7 goals at half time and then loose by 3 points was bloody beautifull. Again i must point out that the umpiring was rather terrible but had no real bareing on the game.
To the credit of the lads we had 3 major injuries 5-10 mins into the game. One knee, ankle and to the next extreme one guy had his eyelid split open and when he closed it you could basically still see his eye. In the end we finished up with 19 men and got the job done. No tactical win on my behalf at all it was the blokes on the field taht did and held strong. Good to see the CBCOC boys hang around and have a drink afetr the game and stay on for the other two games.

The final round this week will be interesting if certain results happen. PH can go as high as 2nd with a win this week against SMOSH. I think we may be hard to beat come finals time with the side gelling together at the right time of year and with some key personnel running around should make for some intersting games in the coming weeks

Very, very proud of the boys yesterday. We knew Scotch were knocking on the door to make finals and the added pressure of knowing that their club is heading to Div 4 next year. A very close game for most of the first half and we were down at 3/4 time. We had 2 quick goals agaist us just before the end of the third and came back to be down by 3 points at the last break. To our boys credit we dug deep with 9 unanswered centre clearances and 6 unanswered goals and the undiscipline from a selected few from Scotch just added to the pleasure of the win. Scotch beat us earlier in the year by 10 goals i think it was and to turn that into a 6 goal win was beautiful. I must give a mention to the club umpire from Scotch. Last time we played them he was a disgrace total clown. This time round kept talking to me on the sidelines and told the players he is keeping an eye on the late contact (to the head). We know we are thought of as Snipers in allgrades and undisciplined and so on, but i told the lads before and during the game i didnt want to see it and they responded by doing exactly what i said. I guess you could say Scotch tried to get us to retaliate but the biys didnt which for our guys im realy proud. Their ump was excellent and maybe should have a chat to the league umps higher up. When i approached the umps at half time to keep some better control and watch the head high/late contact and our ump told me to do a better job at coaching. Im asking for better awareness as my blokes brought something to my attention and our ump says that. Scotch ump said no worries im on it i can see what scotch are doing and dont listen to that your doing a great job. Our ump first time used this year was a dead set drongo and if i had any voice he wouldnt umpire at the club again. Next year our C grade will be up there as we have shown good signs to finish and all have said they will stay on to finish the job. Good luck to the top 5 over the next few and we'll see you all next year

Nothing to lose? Except maybe a GF  I get what you're saying, but when it's round 18 and you can't make the finals and you're playing the top team - then you have nothing to lose. When you're in a GF, you have EVERYTHING to lose IMO
