Clubs are run - massive difference. Generally a big step up.
Standard of players - Always thought 1 to 2 was the biggest jump, but not so big from 2 to 3. the best way I could probably put it is that I reckon the best 16 guys in most div 3 teams could all play div 2, but they don't have 21 who can play that level. Over a whole year, they'd win 3-5 games, depending on the day etc, but will be a straggler.

From the lower divisions, you don't need a massive influx to be able to compete IMO, but going from div 3 to div 2 you really want to add a good solid 3-4 players who can be regulars in your 18, even if they not your best 3-4 players.
Going from div 2 to 1, that's the biggest step and you need a good influx if aren't just making up the numbers.

Having said all that, love a2 . a3 . a4 footy because it's mostly full of blokes who are playing because they want to play with a group of guys they know, and everything else comes after that.

G'day LTTF
was at club last night for the local rag photo shoot with 3 of our new recruits.
i can say we have recruited strongly over the last 2 months and are looking to be very competitive next year.
i can say there is potentially another 10 players coming to the club in 08, that can play.
We have players either coming because a mate is going to play here or our own players coming back home to the club including a few juniors who played in the Gawler League in 07.
Still a few players we are trying to stitch up (ex EPFC players) that are playing in a higher division, and they are very interested.
Still the silly season though.
To my knowledge have only lost Cossie to Salisbury Nth & Harvey to work commitments (WHyalla)

These wouldn't happen to be Haughey, Keeno and T. Gatto would it burglar? I couldn't imagine Haughey going back to A3 after the year he had in A1 this year. T.Gatto would be a chance if S.Gatto is playing up there like I've heard, and Keeno would probably just follow Haughey.

G'day Pag

No, have not spoken to those guys and we probably wont.
We wish them all the best playing at a higher level but if they wanted to come back, we would'nt say no, thats for sure but we have recruited well for 08.

Seems to be a fair bit of recruiting going on.. Kilburn look the goods, you would expect them to recruit well after the embarrising season they had last year.. good luck to them.

They would be pretty dissapointed if they dont finish within the top two this year.

Highly unlikely. I spoke to him only a few weeks ago and he was trying to get myself and a few mates to go and play out at Iggies. Probably a couple of Payneham boys have seen him out when they've been on the turps and got in his ear about going out there. He's probably just humoured them. That's how almost all of these rumours start. It's all pissed talk!! :drinkers: :partyman:

Thought he was confirmed as Iggies captain again with Robo still coaching, amazing some of the conflicting stories that come out.

Is the best ruckman I've played against in A3/A4 by a fair streak.

I thought I posted it on this thread, but must have been another, that Carlo is our captain for next year and Robo continuing as coach. Peter Ward resuming as B Grade coach.
Cliff Flower finally retired after 250 odd games at about age 126.

Carlo is a big unit, but with our new gym and the steroids we're getting on the black unit a couple of our boys will kill him. My new boobs look great too, C cup already!
