We're looking foward to the return of a few players over the next couple of weeks. The div. 5 medallist from last season has only played part of the first round so far this season and should be returning along with Handley, Anderson, Considine, Newman and a few others that have slipped my mind atm.
We've had a horrible run with injuries and late withdrawals this season and hopefully things can start falling into place from here on in.

Trying to re-coup some points mate or thinking there's more upsets heading our way?

bit off both...
If hope valley play this week like they did in the 2nd half on saturday, anything is possible...
Blackfriars have to bounce back soon, no better time to kick start there season with a win over a fancied elizabeth who have been strugglin a bit with injury's.

Fair enough, you can never under-estimate you guys, especially at home, BOS always seem to travel well, the Valleys must've played well last week.

Terrible luck for him, hasn't had a good run with injuries in recent seasons. Might be earning himself the nickname of "porcelain" ;)

Heard a rumor he may give it away after this season and concentrate on getting his body right for the Masters comp in a decade or so

Is the injury anythink to do what he did the week before against Hope Valley! Looked like he had some injury at 1/4 time but came back on to the field when the game was allready over at 1/4 time.

That was unrelated, picked up a bruised heel from the HV game.
Has also had painful sciatica all year so hoping this might be a blessing in disguise, getting a good break and coming back 100% before finals.

Plympton vs Hectorville Just keep on rolling along. Credit to them, they have surprised everyone
Elizabethvs Blackfriars Home ground advantage, but Blacks will be putting it all on the line
Adelaide Lutheran vs Rosewater AL starting to gather some momentum
Brahma Lodge vs Hope Valley Outright 2nd spot at the halfway mark for the winner
Smithfield vs North Haven you just never know what Smithfield will serve up, NH will have their tails up

Having a great year... Some thought they might struggle after finishing 4th at end of 2009 minor round in Div 6

although we finished 4th, it was more of our first half of last season that let us down. won 10 of our last 11 matches last year so obviously we started getting things together which I think a lot of ppl in div 5 didnt know. Still a long long way this season and plenty of work to do. As we have seen by the results this year, on the day anyone can beat anyone.

Yeah Ok. I certainly didn't know that.

AL happy to be playing back at home for the first time this year on Saturday!!
Will be a big crowd, and happy to have finished 5-in-a-row away games.
Looking forward to that run home!!

Are you at home for the rest year? We where told last week our game at your ground had been moved to Thebarton, but not sure why or if any of your other games have been moved!

You certainly would be wanting all these players coming back soon LM considering your B's only had 15 players on the weekend. Do you have a full side for this weeks game then?

Mate, we had 21 named and 5 emergencies, I couldn't believe it when I seen them struggling for numbers on Saturday, they weren't just scrubbers that didn't show up either, 4 or 5 of them WERE pushing for A grade selection.
Being a home game this week we'll have every man and his dog available, it was very disappointing last Saturday.

Not for us, it wasn't. We weren't blessed with numbers either. Did you play or umpire?

I didn't play, yeah, both teams looked like they were struggling to field there best sides, conditions were poo, skill level and spirit of the game were equal to that.

Dissapointing indeed. I know we've had some instances aswell where players can't play or pull out and make some stupid excuse because it's an away game, it's stupid really.

Round 9
Plympton vs Hectorville
Elizabeth vs Blackfriars
Adelaide Lutheran vs Rosewater
Brahma Lodge vs Hope Valley
Smithfield vs North Haven.

Can see all the home teams getting a win this week. Will make an intresting looking ladder come the bye and will give 9 teams still a chance at playing finals football. I honestly believe 1 team could win 5 games this year and get relegated on percentage. Going to be some big games with big upsets in the month of July.

I look forward to the bye week next week as people will no doubt begin to talk about team of the year and final 5 and relegated teams. Any one want to run or set up a comp where you have to pick the top 5 in position and relegated teams?
