Firstly, this A grade crap is unnecessary... They have one team, so let it go...

Have you seen some of the level of these players?!? Some of them would never get an A grade game anywhere but due to numbers Ovies are forced to, there's probably 10 blokes in that side that would play and not be embarrassed in Div8, the rest belong in 8Res!!!

I saw most of the third quarter on my way past and Uni outplayed them. A few things that I noticed;
- The big oval hurts them as they don't have the same run and spread
- they were let down at half forward, there was no-one to kick to that could take a mark
- Uni worked back well and clogged any holes and created turnovers from half back
- Ovies 2 leading goal kickers were playing out of position, not near the forward lines
- I believe a fair few army lads are away on a posting which reduces numbers plus a couple injuries

Either way they got rolled, gonna be interesting to look at results over the next few weeks..
I am not talking to you for 3 minutes because you punched me in the head and it hurt and that was not okay for you to do

Big Thanks to SMOSH official who came in and gave some words of praise to The Lodge's D Grade on Saturday
Wasn't asked for but very much appreciated by the lads

Not the first time as the big snoozer Jamie Thomas did the same the other week up at Modbury :D

Pretty poor effort by Port Districts, especially for a home fixture. From what I have heard they have better numbers than last year when they made a grand final.
I've heard that 6 players missed because they wanted to go to the Port v Hawthorn game. I'd be pretty pi$$ed off with these guys if I was there team mates or coaches. Once you make a commitment you should meet it. They're only letting down their mates.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Does anyone know what happened with SMOSH/PAOC. SPortingpulse say PAOC won 8 goals to 6, however SMOSH has 8 goals in their goalkickers. Id assume the score the right and the goalkickers is wrong.

Not sure who you got your info from lutz, but I dont know of any players pulling out because of the Port v Hawthorn game. As for better number than last year, thats a laugh. We had the full 7 on the bench last year and still had to leave players out. This year we are getting 5 on the bench on a Thursday night and then lose 2 or 3 before Saturday. It's been a tough year for the c grade coaches with low numbers at trainings and then having to ring everyone to see if they are available every thursday night. No body likes to forfeit games and it is dissapointing but its more dissapointing to see people not from the club making up stories on forums.

Well I heard from a Port District player.
In regards to numbers, it sounds as though a few may have been lost to injury (including in higher grades). However, it's reasonable to say that the two coaches have been better at attracting players than the last coach (eg because they still play, and are younger).
There are some great guys who are dependable in your side (like yourself Nemo), but you said it yourself, there are too many guys who aren't committed to the extent that the coaches would like, and that they should be.

As an aside, interesting to see that District's could still enter a team sheet with 20 players names.

Check the SAAFL Results again.....looks pretty spot on to me.... Scores PAOC 7.10 to SMOSH WL 7.6 with both teams goal-kickers totalling seven each.

SMOSH West Lakes
Goal Kickers: K. Waldeck 4, N. Marks 2, J. Cakebread , J. Cox

4 reasonably close games between the two sides by the looks of it.

D2 PAOC 7.10 def SMOSH WL 7.6
D2R PAOC 2.3 lost to SMOSH WL 7.11
D8 SMOSH WL 6.3 lost to PAOC 8.4
D8R SMOSH WL 6.10 lost to PAOC 7.9

Total SMOSH WL 26.30 vs PAOC 24.26, however PAOC takes 3 of the 4.

From what I heard, it was really bad, he kicked the SMOSH player while he was on the ground. Disgusting, embarrassing act.

So we went down & played those knuckle heads from Pt Districts today! They had the stupidity to say our coach was a poor representation of the MFC (What a bunch of wankers) just because they had a player playing his last game throwing elbows & late hits ( Good on him picking on the little blokes) Our coach said his peace! In my eyes anything wrong with that NO....
However if that's the way number 1 wants to go out good on him!!! You get more respect by leading by example rather than by being a Dick....(Way to go out)
