Should be a shot at goal from the goal line & the other way round for an incorrect call.

Taking nothing away from CBC but i dont think we played anywhere near where we have in the last 9 games. Hopefully we will improve next week v Trinity.

For anyone wondering there was a count today in which the Dolphins had too many players on the ground and i have been told that CBC will not be stripped of their match score.

Just to let everyone know that the League hasn't stripped scores for around 10 years maybe longer so it is not a new thing 8)

2 years ago i was involved in a count and the other teams score was scrapped back to 0.0 there and then.Cbc had an extra player for the 3rd quarter and we couldnt work out why they had loose men so much, went over it again at the start of the last and realized cbc had 19 players  we caught them out and nothings done?? :? cheating in my book,so who said cheaters never prosper?Hope Eastern park smash cbc this week and we can beat Trinity and get another crack at them next week, afew boys not happy about how they cheated and are keen for a rematch

1 club - There was no cheating - it was an honest mistake. I suppose we were cheating in the first half as well when you were 6 goals down? Good luck against Trinity.

Wristwatcher - thanks for the honest assessment of the game - hope you enjoyed your first finals game

Sorry if breaking the rules of 18 players on the field is against the rules then yes you were cheating

So if you give away a free kick (i.e break the rules) that is cheating? What about getting reported for striking - is that cheating? Maybe I should ask the PNU bloke who got reported if he was cheating. Stop sooking about the result mate - you lost - move on to your next game.

Haha! Sounds like a firey preliminary final brewing.

I thought we'd run an extra player onto the ground a few times this season and was frantically counting bench players. Had forgotten to count myself...

LOL...sounds like the rematch is gonna be a classic if it happens. Have to make my way down for that one. Well done to CBC on a big win, did not expect that one.

Friday night footy I believe this weekend with epfc vs CBC, gonna be a good night for it.

Following from SAAFL Rules 2012 - IMO the executive should have taken the score away but it is to their discretion as always

28.3 Where the team has more than the permitted number of players on the playing field the following shall apply:
(a) field umpire shall instruct both goal umpires to record the scores of both teams at the time of the player count.
(b) a field umpire shall award a free kick to the captain or acting captain of the opposing team which shall be taken at the centre circle or where play was stopped, whichever is the greater penalty against the offending team;
(c) a fifty metre penalty shall then be imposed from the position where the free kick was awarded; and
(d) upon completing the count the field umpire(s) shall ensure that each team has the permitted number of players on the field prior to recommencing the match
(e) the field umpire as soon as practical after the match, shall report to The League that a request has been made to count the number of players in a team and the number of players actually counted.
(f) The League shall determine whether the offending team shall lose all points which it had scored in the match up to the time of the count, and if so determined The League shall have power to vary the scores of the match and/or provide such other penalty as deemed appropriate by The League.

I was just a plain f*ck up which had no bearing on the result as the count was called approx. 2-3 minutes into the quarter hence the decision by the League. The accusation that we had an extra player on for the entire 3rd quarter and that we were cheating is complete rubbish and just sour grapes. I will have nothing further to say on this....bring on Eastern Park

Didnt Ben Smith from Eastern Park get 31 votes lol. Not sure what you would have done in those 3 games to bridge the gap but he seemed a fairly clear winner. 13 votes clear IIRC and 26 clear of anyone from IF

Congrats to Ben Smith on what must have been a super year

MEDAL COUNTS ARE FUNNY THINGS.....Much like Brownlows!!!!
Last night the Div 4 medallist Ian Perrie broke the record for most votes with 39 yet players have won with 14 votes before. You just never know especially in the C Grade medal counts where there is huge number turnover in a lot of cases, forfeits, withdrawels and for the first time last night at the association medal count a slide came up that said "WASHOUT" LOL LOL LOL  . How the hell where the other games played then???
Regardless yes 31 is a massive number and that was probably from 17 games at most with Salis West pulling out. Im sure he will be closely monitored in his next 2 games

Terrific hard fought win by Eastern Park over CBC on Saturday, well done to the boys. CBC jumped them early playing some very good footy bit to the lads credit worked their way back into the game. One thing I did notice was that Bolitho played for CBC which is interesting in the fact that he got a permit to play with a 8B & 8C game tally. My understanding of SAAFL rule 34.1(b) is that if the player plays two games on the same day only the higher division match only will be considered. Checking dates he played B's & C's twice on the same day effectively making him a 8B & 6C tally. How did he get a permit plus they certainly aren't short of players as CBC have almost 50 players qualified for C4 finals (on paper anyway). I would think there are quite a few guys who played in their C's this season who might be peeved about missing out.

Good luck to PNU & CBC in the prelim this week.

I understand that Eastern Park were so concerned they actually rang the League during the match  He was issued a permit - end of story.

If you want to talk about rules mate what about SAAFL rule 22.22 - Prior to the commencment of each match of The League an official of each of the competing Member Clubs shall hand to the field umpire(s) and an official of the opposing Member Club a copy of their Team Sheet. We couldn't get a copy of your team sheet until 3/4 time by which time half your blokes played the game in different numbers.

Let me clarify, I wasn't havving a dig at CBC over the permit, I questioned why the league allowed it. Rules are in place for a reason and all clubs are permitted to get clarification. Also complete nonsense about players changing numbers, perhaps as you guys were chasing them after such a good start confused you to who was who.
