So we finish second. To look at the positives to have two weeks off between games would have been too much, I remember our C-Grade in 2009 were clearly the best team of that year and they also had extended breaks towards the end of the year and they lost all momentum going into finals. Probably a bit of a different situation but you can still see the negatives, and also we still get a one week break and a double chance.

I'll give you the best team of the home and away season, but not best side of the year. Both finals we played against you guys we were clearly a better side (2nd semi was never close, and the GF we should have had wrapped up much earlier but we wasted the wind in the 2nd quarter), and from memory you only just got over Uni in the prelim. I'd almost go so far as to say we came closer to losing the first final against UNI than the GF.

Either way, I agree, 2 weeks of in a row always leaves you feeling a bit rusty, so good luck for finals this year. Shame I've not played since round 1

Mate, in that GF we went into the last quarter in front?? No doubt you were the better side on the day but to say that we were never in it is rubbish. We did beat UNI by a kick in the prelim but it wasnt all one way in the GF, you guys got up by 9 points, had we not wasted the wind in the 3rd things could have been different. I dont think that the few weeks we had off really had much to do with it, maybe having to play four hours earlier on the day was it ;) Anyway that was years ago now, I for one would have rather finished on top this year, we now have to win to play in a game to get in the GF instead of having an extra weeks rest.

Didn't say you weren't in it, I said we were clearly a better side (at least after quarter time), and we should have had it wrapped up much earlier, I reckon we outplayed you fairly consistantly after the first quarter where your big centre half forward dominated and you guys kicked goals from everywhere.

Anyway, back to this year, I reckon playing finals is the best preparation for a GF, the intensity is always a few notches higher, and complacency with weeks off can really hurt.

Any chance the SMOSH boys can kick a few goals on the weekend and help us try and get top spot back?? ;) Pretty close up the top, and I can assure you that we will be looking at these results closely.

Good for you blokes..........bad for PAC! This should have been sorted out early in the season and not Round 18!

I think PAC will make it anyway.

Mitcham v PAC
Mawson Lakes v Salisbury

Percentages in brackets... Currently both Mawson Lakes (50%) and Salisbury (46%) are in the 5 with PAC (48%) a game behind. If Salisbury loose and PAC win then PAC make the 5 with a better percentage

maybe redmagpie you should get in contact with mitcham and offer them a keg if they get up and win. Should be a interesting game mitcham just lost to broadview and pac lost to them the week before
We're on this journey together, One Heart, One Club and they will Never Ever Tear Us Apart.

Its no wounder flinders are travelling along quiet nicely in there d grade, just heard guys like Bourney (vc) and klompy came off the bench today, these guys would start in most c grade sides let alone a d grade team. With 4 to 5 still to come in it sounds like that side is going to be hard to make, which is how you want your side going into finals. With all 4 teams getting a double chance in there grades thats a great effort to have those kind of quality numbers around your club
