Every coach should & would select & play the best possible side they can put on the park to win a game & more importantly a premiership.
SMOSH are lucky to have all sides still involved in finals action so therefor their are going to be players that unfortunately miss out & go down a grade.
Their are always stories at this time of the year of players p!ssed off with not being selected & playing where they think they should be.
You also get parents, supporters & others that think they know whats best & more times than not rumours do the rounds.
The coach has the final say as to the 22 players he selects & where they play on game day no-one else, he's been interviewed by the powers to be & found to be the best candidate to coach therefor his selections should never be questioned especially when he has the side playing finals footy & from the SMOSH B Grade coaches perspective a Grand Final appearance penciled in.
If their are any whinging players, the players need to toughen up & prove they are worthy of selection & show the form neccessary to hold your position.

just noticed the smosh vs mitcham game this week at thebby at 12.15. Is this because of theres A's play at 2.15 and why didn't they want the home final

Youguys have always been up there but you guys have turned it around with the way you play and discipline. There is always biff in a C grade game. I feel taht 67 for us was targeted a little by 23 but theres history there and my guy had the last laugh between them but not the main laugh in the end. Oh well thats footy. Didnt get to go to the game on Saturday mate, but its meant to be pretty much like your ground. Hard as a rock. I cant understand it when there is strict protocols when it comes to hosting finals etc. I know FP were terrible (from one of their own). I did watch them against Seaton and they made Seaton look like they shouldnt have even been there. OUr B grade would have given FP a better go of it. Seaton looked like they were just there so the game could be played. In saying that the FP B grade are in a bit of a slump (again form one of their own) and are looking at the prospects of going out this week (also like in their A's in straight sets) to you guys. Wont know until the weekend.

Flinders Pk B grade are in a bit of a slump as said by one of their own, well i'd like to say to that "sore losing whinging lala" your form in the build up to finals has been very good, losing 3 games for the year is a very good effort that wouldn't justify a form slump, winning a qualifying final by 21 goals ain't bad either.
I'd seriously look at giving the opposition a bit of credit, SMOSH had lost not that long ago to Golden Grove, they wern't calling it a form slump & disrespecting the opposition like some do.
Losing a final to a rival hurts but making excuses for their loss ain't gonna turn things around for you, giving credit where its due & knowing you were beaten by a better team on the day is a good thing as SMOSH played great footy & applied pressure that forced turnovers, & they didn't allow Flinders Pk the freedom & space they enjoy, oops sorry they did in the first 5 minutes of the game!

Not sure mate - Pretty big game for the club at Flinders with promotion/GF spot on the line: Could understand the C Grade lads wanting to be at the A Grade game.

IIRC - soemtimes the SAAFL withdraws the option to buy a home final in the 'C divisions'.

Gees FLinders park C Grade were pretty impressive Sunday! We put a bloody good side on teh park, and still couldn't get the chocolates!

went and watched the smosh vs mitcham game today, smosh got up by 5 points. they portland vs mitcham game was a much better game of footy then this one, and i'd be blaming the oval. Thebby is too big of an oval to be playing c grade footy. the last qtr saw smosh going in a few goals up. Mitcham came out and gave it there all keeping smosh to 1 point for the qtr. Mitcham did have there chances i think they would of had double digit scoring shots in the last. When the going got tough and mitcham where surging home smosh just didn't respond, I think that the only thing that gave smosh the win was when they did have the ball which wasn't much they just used it better and kicked goals when going forward. The umpires where pretty good yes they did miss a few calls but i think the two umpires called the same things at both ends and thats all you can ask for.

This weeks game will be one sided in my oppinion. FP have too many sources of delivery for SMOSH to counter act. Dont get me wrong SMOSH have a very talented and strong side but FP cant be beaten. Only positive for my side in this is that we wont front up against SMOSH next year (still have to with FP though). With the likes of Ford, Cook and so on FP have too much run and frontal pressure. Hanson should get soem attention to stop his presence up forward. Demant will have a day out IMO. It hurtsd to say that i was correct with the final standings of the ladder several weeks ago. With us finishing fourth by 9 points in a game that we lost by playing 2/12 quarters and then Smosh only get up by 5 over Mitcham. With that in mind that win over Mitcham by that short a margin shows the dominance taht SMOSH's C grade has had over the past few years is slowly starting to wain. Next year they will win teh flag (early i know but it will be between them and Mitcham). Best of Luck to the 2 teams on Saturday wish it was us but that's how it goes. FP for mine by 5 goals +

FYI Satchel, Thats the best C Grade side I've seen us put on the park in my time at the club. Some bloody good players in it. Think we're a big chance to cause an upset!

The wind at thebby last week was the cause of the close game. Both teams only really played 2qtrs each as it was too hard kicking into the breeze and being on such a big ground. I think if SMOSH and Mitcham both keep the sides they have now and even recruit some better players for the A and B they should dominate this grade pretty easy. It does depend on the teams that come up and the teams that come down. Also another huge factor is that will kilburn fill a c grade side next year and with athlestone coming down and not having a team playing in the c grade comp, also will para hills have the numbers for a third side, they struggle to get a side on the park this year in the second half and with talks of loosing a heap of players it's a questioned to be asked.
