if you put yourself up their and are prepaired to critise clubs ,players and coaches for poor preformances, you also have to be man enough to give credit and praise where it is due.i was very hard on lockleys last week and i believe it was warranted.this week they have rebounded extremely well after what would have been a difficult week.congratulations to the club ,players and coaches for a great effort in what sounds like was a craker of a game.sympathy to you zedman.great effort but on the day not quite good enough
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

thanks deeman, full credit to lockleys who came out a different unit to last week i would say, and were up and about from the start ..it was a fantastic game played at a high pace with pressure evident all over the ground..lions got to a 3 goal lead early in the second but lost their ruckman with an ankle and like a good team does, lockleys went bang and scored 6 goals to zip to go in 3-4 up at half time..second half was very even with the lions slowly pegging it back but lockleys had the answers..in a super last quarter clg hit the front by a point with about 4 minutes to go..but to his credit, mickan went back from 40-45m out and threaded it through to snatch the lead back with 2 minutes to go for lfc.. on reflecting last night i thought lockleys best were lowrey martinello mickan williams smith hall..for the lions it was bitter pill and another year gone but they can be proud of two very strong finals performances from the position of underdog..now they have to regroup again in about 90 days for another assault :)

well done to the hawks on getting promoted..great work

Very dissappointing for clg, three years in a row been tipped out and havent gone to A5 just falling short every time ,others seem to be passing them by i.e hope valley hectorville westminster and now trinity every chance to go up next year ...

benchmark, it wont be any easier to get out of div 6 next year either with blackfriars and nth haven coming down and the two coming up from Div 7 being better than the 2 relegated sides from 6 imo. all grades are just getting better with less games each year where you would pencil in some definite wins.

I watched Hectorville vs Brahma Lodge yesterday. IMO, West Croydon would have been very competitive with these two sides this year.

looking at teams being promoted from div 6 over the past few yrs and a lot have gone straight up again. we (heccies) have gone straight up, brahma are in the prelims. in previous yrs, WOS and golden grove (lost by 1 point to be in div 3 yesterday).

also how did WC improve so much compared to last year? do they have a new coach and get a few handy players?

this always gets said but in IMO i think west croydon would be up there in our div but they would have to improve by 20 odd goals to say that..

it's easy to say this on the side line from players not players finals but when you are against these players with the conditions and how slippery it is and how we fumble the ball (both sides) just remember what happened to these sides last year that faced up against us..

how is it disappointing? they have played finals havent they.. what more could you want.

i think CLG suffered the worst in div 6 with injuries and players leaving (harvey) no matter what people say about him he is still a presence in the lower divs as proved last year coming top 3 in the medal count..

Saw the second half of the lockleys/CLG game.

Much betetr showing from Lockleys, and overall, a much better game of football after last weeks debacle.

Carl 'STD' Mickan kicked a beauty from 50 odd out to put Lockleys in front wiht 3-4 minutes to go before a goal each made for a frantic last few minutes. I though CLG were gonna run over the top of them in the second half! Overtime was a big chance late in the game.

In the 1.5 games i've seen, the main differences I noticed between highers divs/div 6 has been
a. skills and decision making is very noticeable
b. size/strength of players. KPP's all seem to be flanker sized!

Fair to say i won't be trekking to trinity to watch this week - good luck to both sides

cheers

benchmark has issues with CLG unknown..best to leave him to his misery..westminster and heccies are above WC and whoever they will play in a fortnight in my opinion, and i have seen all the teams..valleys are just hanging around in div 5 and look..its 2 teams who went up through div 6 coming back..north haven and blackfriars..so premiers and grand finalists do have bad years..as much as you want to dance on the lions grave they aint dead yet benchmark..so suck it up and wait..and trinity havent made it out of div 6 yet either..and i dont think they will..lockleys are back on track..dig?
