Provided it is not cancelled like the majority of the ones this year

Would think this one would be too important to cancel.

But then again, common sense is not all that common

I know that Nth Pines have nominated for Div 7 & 7R. How does this work? Is it as simple as just nominating or is it completely up to the League officials? Pines will definately have the numbers but could not see it working if they had to play C2 and C4 for example....

It would be nonsensical to put you in C2 and C4.

As has been stated, Div 7 could be made up of the following:

Adelaide Uni (C/D)
Angle Vale
Flinders Uni
Houghton District
Mitchell Park
Nth Pines
Ovingham
St Pauls
Wingfield

That's nine teams. Tenth spot goes to a Div 1 clubs C/D grade or they leave it at a nine team comp. Henley to play Div 6.

Not sure how it works but you are put where they want you not everyone can be in div7 if 14 teams all nominate for it.Ovies did put in to go for div7 &7r and are hoping to get in as c2 and c5 dont have the same apeal.Clubs need to play at the same ground each week with surport staff etc.Would be best if all A grade clubs faced off together as if Ovies were in c2 again it would be another flag and no-one barr the players would care, and other clubs would still talk them down when there trying to do the right thing by fielding two sides again.

As I have discussed with GTB, it would defy logic to put the A/B teams into C1-C5. They surely must put those clubs like Ovingham, Nth Pines and Wingfield, into Division 7 provided they come up with the numbers.

Is it true that Ovingham will be making 2 teams next year?
Looks like its gonna be a rough and tumble comp in 09.

As for some of the other clubs, don't you have to work your way into the league or is it that being in Div 7 is just a stepping stone?

With Edwardstown going to southern league all sides from div 2 down will be effected and flow on will mean that 2 sides (competing in GF) will be promoted and only 1 side will be relegated, having said that no side has to go up if they do not wish to be promoted and can exercise their right to remain in current division. Henley being a C & D Grade side WILL NOT go up as they may struggle to remain competitive with older players and consistent numbers as all C & D Grade sides do. A side coming 3rd can be asked if they want to be promoted, but honestly why would you if you weren't good enough to make the GF.

Rough comp, are you saying Ovies play dirty rough or hard at the ball?Footy is a mans game but you are right with teams like Ovingham,Wingfield,Nth Pines and Mitchell pk some games might be abit touchy.Watch alot of ovies this year and i wouldnt call them dirty just have a few that are very hard at the ball

And what if hypothetically we exercise our right to stay down? What if others like Mitchell Park decide that they aren't strong enough for Div 6? Henley will just have to suck it up.

Already stated that only 1 side from each div will be relegated & from div 6 will be the boys from the Hollow doing a Hanson Road princess and going down.....to div 7 with BL thrown the life line to stay in div 6 which with all their supposed signings should see them very competitive in 09.
From what I saw this year MP would struggle up a grade to many old blokes (very dirty behind play) and would be a short trip unless they recruited strongly, Henley won't have to go up plain and simple.
