Mitcham to upset Portland - 4 goals - Hawks to end Portlands finals Campaign. To be even in the first half, but the Hawks to break away in the 2nd with the div1 standard ball movement and hard running.
PAOC over Iggies - 5 goals - OI didn't play 4 quarters of footy last week, and if they cant put four quarters together against PAC, they cant win

B's
Mitcham over SMOSH - 1 goals - down to the wire, but Mitcham B's havent lost at the 'Thunderdome' for a long time now and should continue the good form from last weeks second half.

PAOC over Seaton - 3 goals - Seaton in good form, but cant see them stopping Pacs midfield

C's
Mitcham over Para Hills - 5 goals - If Elton can kick straight this week, the Hawks should get through. They dispayed a good brand of footy on Sunday comfortably accounting for SMOSH all over the ground.

PAC over Seaton - 6 goals - PAC simply too good

Good weekends for Mitcham and PAC!!!

Dont be scared to pump yourself up a bit Hardy

If our Div 1 ball movement doesn't win it for us, it will be our "highly intelligent coach" that does: http://saafl.asn.au/footy-news/166

A great weekend of footy comiing uo with an absolute cracker of a game down at thunder park.
Portland v Mitcham
here are two clubs that hate each other but have alot of respect for one another going head to head on saturday.
I believe whoever wins them ruck duel between suka and perkins with harding also having a crack will go along way to winning the game. If suka can give the likes of Pitt, mason, ellis, tucker and doyle first hands on the ball portland could be in abit of trouble. Last meeting portland smashed us with hard skillful running footy played with alot of passion. Both sides have improved alot this season but i believe that the hawks who have peaked right at the business end of the season might get the chocolates and send portland out in straight sets.
Mitcham 18pts

paoc v oifc- paoc will be smarting over the round 18 loss and also losing the bet with the b's. Devries controling everything should be to strong for iggies and i expect it could get ugly towards the end if paoc get their run going. Paoc by 30 pts

mitcham v smosh div 3r- mitchams last half agaiinst iggies was awesome so im expecting them to follow on from last week and with hardy. Gunn, palmer, bradshaw playing a good brand of footy should see them glo through and play seaton.

Paoc v seaton- paoc way too strong giving seaton a touch up. Paoc by 8goals.

A lil review of teams.

PAC: Rocky has the Princes firing in all 8 cylinders. Would have a gameplan drilled into them. They will always dish the handball out backwards. Watch for the seagull who will run past the contest and into space. Someone will need to play a defensive role on DeVries take him to areas that wont be dangerous. Wouldnt Peddler v DeVries b fantastic to watch. Would justify the $8. The space they created in their own fwd 50 was great and a big key. Seemed to play the HFF right up the ground to isolate key fwds. No one can go a shoot out with these blokes will take a very negative (defensively) combined with a lot of physical pressure. Tag up on the wings and get men behind the ball running forward. Chip chip till u find an opening must be patient bomb it forward and they will cut you up with a counter attack. Control the ball control the game.

Iggies: These guys match up best against PAC because of the hard strong bodies in and around the ball. Captain coach Peddler: teams could use this against them and get him really puffing and mind off the game. Put as much physical pressure on him as possible. In saying that im sure he can handle it quality player. Their ruck seemed a weak point but all he needs to do is hold his own because the on ballers will clean the rest up.

Portland: Perkins would have to be the best ruckman in the Div giving his team first look. They will attack the corridor. Chip inside play on then pump the ball long. Which is what they need to do with a small fwd line. This gives their fwds a chance. Portland are very skilful and quick and backed themselves in to hit the target with the short kick. They loved the switch on the counter attack and would look for it and use it at every chance they had. Seemed to create a loose man through the middle of the ground with middie rotations. They used their bench the most ive seen by a club all year.

Mitcham: Played a loose man in def all day against us. Will also attack the middle of the ground and play on at every chance. One thing i couldnt believe when watching them was how many blokes were kicking around the corner instead of straightening up. Seemed really keen to get the party tricks going and when they do the crowd gets into and u know ur in trouble. Ellis is the goto man through the middle with Cardigan 8) How they start at centre bounces wont b how they match up on the field they went to great lengths to create a loose man through the middle.

Old Iggs to win the GF against PAC by 15pts.
It takes real courage to wear PURPLE!!!!!

Agree with alot of what you wrote.
I think if it isnt a PAOC v Old Ignatians GF, it will be a wasted year for the team that doesnt make it. No disrespect to Portland and Mitcham, but they're merely making up the numbers and if they were to get to the GF, it would end up a blowout.

Portland defeated Mitcham by 1 point. Good close game. Mitcham up by 5 goals early in the 3rd quarter. Would have to say Portland had the better of the umpiring. The 2 young umpires seemed to get caught up in the crowd calling for frees IMO.

Good game and good on Portland winning and deserved it probably on the day. All of us were there and none of us could be believe the Umpiring at all. Beyond belief would be a good term. Neither one side or the other, but just horrendous over 4 quarters. A good game destroyed by 2 insipid performances from the maggots, who are just not up to umpiring at this level. The SAAFL should take responsibility for the crap we saw today, but you can bet they wont

I too ventured out to the Portland v Mitcham game & yes saw a game ruined by 2 umpires that were whistle happy & out of their depth, WHATS NEW?
I'll say the Amateur League will cop it this week with a please explain by Mitcham supporters, coaches & officials as they were SLAUGHTERED by the 2 umpires involved on saturday.
5 goals up at one point of the game were Mitcham working hard for each goal only to be crucified every time Portland went forward with free kicks rewarded to Portland, infact 4 goals in the third quarter alone were from disgraceful decisions & a total of 8 goals for the game.
I wonder if there were any umpire observers at the game??I hope they were watching the game & are honest with their assesment as that performance cost Mitcham a chance to play in a preliminary final.
Mark Shadiac & Barry Oates will be under the pump certainly after that display, if only they had listened to the Div 3 coaches & also read their reports on the umpires  but no they wouldn't listen or communicate with the coaches to get experienced umpires out there with an academy umpire to help enhance their ability & better their performances.
I was only talking about the WHAT IFS with these umpires the other week, WHAT IF their decision making has an influence on the result of a final??
Well yesterday proved exactly that & Mitcham are owed a huge apology by the League.

Oh look, No Mercy and Top End carrying on about the umpires again...what a surprise  Gee I would have hoped that we'd stop hearing this bullshit now that your team isn't involved anymore :?

WHAT IF you two could shut up about the umpires for once in your lives because bitching about it on here gets you absolutely nowhere and is only ruining the reputation of this site because we're actually stupid enough to allow it. Stop making others look bad just so you can try and get your point across. I'm over it and I'm sure alot of others are as well.

Give it a rest - Unless either of you have something constructive to post or actually give those that weren't there a run down of the game without going on a tryrade about how bad the umps are and having a crack at the league, don't post.

Seriously.
