I don't think anyones questioning the quality of his persona but more so some judgement displayed recently. Some in at SAAFL house have commented on his willingness to pass judgement on the performance of the SAAFL & Umpires in recent times. Credit where credit's due, TTG are a very well drilled side but I hear he should be a little more concerned with keeping his club in Div 1 for more than a season or two than some of the things consuming his attention at the minute. What's the old saying ? "One swallow doesn't make a summer"

Only rumours I have heard, and I wasn't at the game, but with emotions running high down at Henley the other week, there was an altercation with the home match day official. Basically a verbal altercation that continued through the second half from both sides.

It was a big game for the Club having never in its history winning at Shark Park. I personally think it is good that he is so passionate about his new Club, however I do believe Henley weren't too happy, especially after losing.

Sudjai playing a hff role in the main for Broadview I would say his last six games have been better than his opening half a dozen, seems to be amongst the goals of late, very busy, still has pace, Broadview's style of game suits him well, they are a highly skilled team that retain possesion well, Sudjai gets his fair share of footy on the lead up the ground... I reckon the assistant coach role is more of a salary cap dodge than anything else!!

As for Cracker not too sure really, last I knew he was playing for SMOSH a couple of years ago in A2, didn't seen overly interested and injuries were mounting...???

Correct spent 3 years at the Crows for a return of around 10 games, played 100+ games at Glenelg and was vice-captain I believe for a couple of years. Saw him play recently Vs Henley he looks the lightest and fittest he has been for a while...

Scott Berry spent time at the Eagles 17's 19's I think, very handy utility type or can catch it very well but not always a reliabe kick. Not sure about Wright or the Wilsons?...

Trav Wright played juniors for Hope Valley til Under 15's then played 5 years of under age out at Norwood before 1 year of reserves, then to TTG where he captained the side for 2 years and now vice. Big lunk of a man with great endurance.

:( yep, unless something unforeseen happens off the field - like the league deciding to not enforce relegation - or something miraculous happens on the field and the blacks win at least three games.
unfortunately option a is beyond the realms of possibility and we just don't have the cattle to win games this year - yes can be competitive for periods but not for the entirety of the game.
This is a problem throughout the entire club apart from div c1 (the e grade) and the farmers from roseworthy in div c4. However these sides don't really have the ability to massively increase the talent pool at the top end.

hopefully, it will be a short stay in div 2 and 2009 will see the blacks back in div1.

I reckon it will be a gaza v goodwood grand final, which will be a cracker of a game. Hopefully it will be at Thebarton.

go the blacks.

I think they confirmed Thebby was the venue for the A1 GF on the radio show on Friday morning? A2 is at Alberton and A3 at Richmond.

I have heard a lot of whinging from ex Uni players and supporters about not being able to keep up with other clubs that pay their players. To be frank I 'm a bit sick of it! Heaps of ex uni players are well paid professionals who could easily put $4000 towards their old club via company sponsorship. Get a group of 10 ex-players and you have $40,000 which would put a fairly decent team on the park. Uni would have heaps more avenues for potential sponsorship than most amateur clubs, so if they are so worried about dropping down to Div 1, they should do everything they can to stop it!!!

Who's whinged Shaz ?, give me some names. I haven't heard anyone whinge and would be very surprised to learn your observation had any credibilty to it at all but if you care to tell me who it is, I do my best to make sure they don't say anything to make you sick of anything we do, god forbid we should do or say anything to upset you.
All well and good to make your claims but back it up or as they say "shut up" and stop talking crap, it's very boring.
You contradict yourself with the suggestion that ex-players are well paid professionals and then follow that up as if money would be the carrot to lure players away from the club and therefore lead to our demise. Additionally, you more than once refer to ex-players and not current players which would suggest you know nothing of what is going on the "inside" at the minute.
However, I'll pass on your advice to the club, I'm surprised no one has actually thought of it or anything else to arrest our slide.
No doubt about it, you're a genius.

Blacks! No intention to offend you!! You accuse me of contradicting myself; however, in talking about ex-players, I am talking about 40-60 year old ex players (not as I think you assumed current players playing for other clubs), who talk about the days when they played for the blacks, all the great players they played with, the friendships they made, how successful a lot of guys they have played with have become etc, etc. Can't remember names as I am crap with remembering them, sorry! But run into a lot through work, and at games.

I am not talking about whinging from the Uni inner sanctum, but rather older ex-players and supporters (many ex-players whose kids now play footy). I've met guys who are partners in firms, who say how good it was playing for uni, but now all players play for money and uni can't compete with the $$ being paid, players who could play for uni are going off to play in the country for $$ or for other clubs, or college teams etc. All I'm saying is they should put their money where their mouth is!! If uni footy was so good to them, maybe they should give back to the club that gave them so much. I reckon that $$ is wrecking amateur footy. Dollars are tight around the club for things like club and ground maintentance, change rooms, uniforms, balls etc, yet players are getting a couple hundred bucks a game. Would love to see footy where players play for the love of the game and the club, play for a club because of the guys that make up the club and the coach, but I know I'm dreaming!!
