Hardly relevant to my point FS. Congrats to him for being so loyal and long serving and for obviously putting his hand up to help wherever he can. But he is obviously scared of a couple of guys in your team. I don't care, nor have I mentioned that any of the umpires on either side payed some dubious free kicks. (I used the word "bad" and that is probably an incorrect word to use so I apologise for that). But it's Div8R FFS. It's expected. It's the things he saw that he blatantly ignored that concerned me.....

The bolded part is what concerned our C grade side in regards to Wayne

I wont stand for a club legend of ours being called "the most scared little old man going around" when the facts couldnt be further from the truth no matter what your 'observations' were. Dave has no reason to feel threatened by anyone at MFC and I mean anyone....

Time to let this one rest

Do you think your C grade umpire had a ripper game FS or what ???

mmm yep, sure FS. No worries. I believe you...

Nice try to deflect the subject away from your lack of respect for people in another post that shows your usual unjustified arrogance

Get your hand off it FS... I have already said that I respect anyone who puts his hand up for any/all jobs at a footy club as this bloke has but I guess that may have been hard to read with your head up your ass as usual...

Seems to be more talk about the D's than the C's on here lately.

Agree with Tex's last comment in that it's quite funny to listen to clubs call out others for being dirty. Just about every side I've seen this season have at least one or two players that don't play within the spirit of the game. It would be interesting to see which clubs people would list if they were asked to name the "least dirty". For mine, I'd have Ovingham right up there, seem a good bunch who are just interested in playing footy.

With all sides having played each other once now, the ladder is starting to take shape.

Ovingham on top and will remain there. Currently undefeated and have won all bar 2 games by at least 10 goals.
Modbury and Salisbury are the next group, with Salisbury the better side for mine. The had a slip up in rd 1 vs SMOSH, however since then have only dropped a game to Ovies (by the smallest margin of all teams).
Modbury seem to base their game more around defence and it's working well for them at the moment, however this could hurt them in finals if they don't have the attacking prowess to come back from a couple of mistakes should they occur.

Behind the top 3 it's then a bit of a log-jam, with two spots left for four sides.
PAOC, Uni, North Haven and SMOSH are all on 6 or 8 points.

PAOC play all three of these sides away in the return legs, which could hurt them, especially against SMOSH who have been impressive at West Lakes this season.
Uni are always a danger, however you have to wonder how they will go when they are tested for depth during the uni holidays.
With 5 of the next 7 at home, expect North Haven to push hard over the coming two months. They were the only side of this group to really cash in against Bramha Lodge, and have the best percentage as a result. This could be the determining factor when it comes to playing finals at the end of the year.
SMOSH were hot early, however have suffered in the last couple of weeks with loses to Uni and Golden Grove, and with games against Modbury and Salisbury in the next two, they could find themselves losing touch with the pack.

Golden Grove are next, and in reality aren't that far behind the four above them. Expect them to still have an impact who on plays finals, as shown with their win over SMOSH, they can take critical points from sides who underestimate them.

BL aren't going to win a game, but could play a role in the second half of the season, as it's likely to be % that determines who plays finals. If BL forfeit a game or two as we have seen in previous seasons by lowly ranked teams, that lack of % boost could really hurt some sides. It will be interesting to see how this one plays out.
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!

Pretty fair assesment there Trader.

We were very happy to get a win on the board again on Saturday, we havent been all that far off in the last three weeks and we were only two behind Modbury going intis to the last and up at half time against Salisbury to get beaten in the second half. While there is still hope we will play as though we are going to push for finals as all should.

The way I see it 4th and 5th is up for grabs, North Haven by far were the best side we played from 4th down IMO. They were fit, clean and quick. SMOSH didnt handle the wet conditions in both grades on the weekend so its hard to gauge for me where they sit. Leaves PAOC and UNI who are always better in the 2nd half of the season. Anyone from 4th down to 8th could realistically still make it if they want it. I am impressed with the numbers BL seem to get each week to play when they are struggling but I am not sure that they will make a lot of impact on the final positions apart from keeping teams to smaller wins than others which can change things.

As for the clean sides comment, I have never played a game against PAOC where I have walked off and thought that they were dirty, can probably add UNI to that also.

Here we go a week off then the second half of the season, its a wide open ladder nothing is a certainty with the top 5
SMOSH 14
GG 14
MODBURY 12
PAOC 12
UNI 10
SALISBURY 10
TTG 8
PT DISTRICS 6
NORTH HAVEN 4
BRAHMA LODGE 0

Who will finish top 3?
Who will finish wooden spoon?
Who will play off in the GF & Win?

I think everyone would say Brahma wil "win" the spoon
Top 3 will probably stay the same
SMOSH are easily the best team we've played but that was round 1 and obviously they have lost a couple games since then. Golden Grove beat us by the most but i although they we good i think that was our worst game of the year. Think anyone in the top 5 could play in GF against SMOSH.

Brahma Lodge will win the spoon.

I think top 3 will be SMOSH, GG & PAOC. Prince Alfred always seem to gain momentum in the last half of season.

Obviously a bit of bias but I think the GF will be SMOSH v GG. We had a big month of footy playing Modbury, SMOSH and PAOC and have beaten both Modbury and SMOSH. Big test next against an in form PAOC at Park 9.

Has been a decent/even comp this year and there haven't been to many blowout results (excluding BL).

be interesting to see how ovies go over the next few weeks with the army boys heading of for training
in the past that has meant trouble to the team balance but now they have a much larger pool to call from
hopefully next year will be the year they move to two teams

In the past they wouldnt have been playing in the lowest grade in the comp against D grade sides, pretty sure with two clear games and 9% on the 2nd best side you will get by without much hassle. Add to that you have the bye in two weeks pretty sure your covered.

i understand your felings on ovies and im not on about that
my point was in the last two years they lost from six to nineteen players at a time, depending on the army schedule
that with any team will always cause hassels
scooter has been able to manage that alot better this year with the influx of the new local players
knowing that they are building towards two teams for next year will be great from the club point of view and also to the logistics of where they are playing now,but you do understand that they were happy to play in div 7 r when told to

Very impressive coach and team.
It was the wet day and both sides played good football in great spirit for the entire game.
They are beatable though......

I haven't played them yet but have heard they will tough to beat, agreed no one is unbeatable in this comp, Ovies would be at very short odds though.

Fair enough, I still think that with the gap they have built up will keep them up top s my point. I get what your saying though, they may drop a game in this period, could help another side sneak up some spots too. If heading off or training hits at the wrong time of the season it could hurt though. Good to see they are aiming at getting a second side going soon, must have some good people around the club to keep the doors open.

You guys talk a lot of bollocks.

Its Div 8 Reserves footy.

No cattle stations involved.

Ovingham are an A grade team playing in a Div 8 comp. What a joke.

Sorry a Div 8 Reserves comp! HAHAHA!

It would be quite embarrassing to lose to any of the teams in the comp.
