Strange bloke sitting on the hill yells out "Hey Footy Chick!" so I slip n' slide over to the fence (twas a bit muddy) with what was obviously a blank look on my face wondering who it was - and then he decides to introduce himself...

Mind you, you would've looked like a bit of a dick if it wasn't me though

Your C's are massive!

Heard that one before....

I had a chat with wareing tday, and he seemed keen....didn't seem overweight to me.....looked as light as i've seen since U18's in '08 haha

I look forward to watching my first game of D3 footy down at the DOME. Good spot to watch from!

felch hit the nail on the head in regards to our game on saturday
after quarter time iggies wanted it more and worked harder. Number 23 for them absolutely dominated for them, as did connelly!

Moody I believe is done for the year with a knee, but if we go on any further, who knows if he will be able to make a miraculous recovery?
Wareing back this week, Thornton done I believe.
The biggest in for us would have to Bird, currently in Croatia but speak to him regularly and he is doing a 6km run everyday up a hill. High altitude so he will be fit as a fiddle when he returns!

Good to have a beer with Jimmy and Teaboy saturday, even got them to drink a few real beers ;)

Portland got off to an absolute blistering start on the weekend and were playing some really good football. when moody went off injured and hinsley fizzled out the game in the second and third quarter iggies were to strong. we didnt kick a goal in the second and 3rd quarter which left us down by about 8 points at 3 quarter time after some hinsley magic kickinging 2 goals in a matter of minutes portland were back in front when i think it was Romeo who stole the game away from us. had about 6 clearances in the last quarter and just couldnt be tackled, very strong through the hips and with a head of steam up couldnt be brought down by the boys, was a pretty good game of footy but frustrating to watch if you a portlandd supporter as our best is really good but our worst is very ordinary

Given some of the concerns raised last week, what were people's impressions of the 2 finals venues? Personally, I thought Hunter Park was in very good condition considering how much rain we have had, and the groups of spectators on the far side of the ground added to the atmosphere of the day.

As for the game itself, not much more to add to what the Portland lads have already written. Portland's 1st quarter was exceptional, but Iggies slowly worked their way back into the game, with Pedler directing traffic from CHB. Iggies' ability to win the centre clearances in the last quarter probably gave them the edge in the end. Sets up 2 very good games this weekend.

Hunter park was in great nick, when people on hear were talking about it being an ordinary oval i was expecting a mud paddock but i would say its in as good or better nick than any other in the div.

as for the crowd on the outer wing, it added a bit to the game which was good a little bit of port adelaide coming out in a few of the people by covering up the number plates so the parking inspector couldnt get a happy snap of the number plates ;)

crowds were good for both sides and definately added to the atmosphere of the day.
Oval was in OK nick I thought, was very very soft under foot, and that showed with alot of people slipping over during the game.
But conpared to some of the ovals we have played at in recent weeks was alot better condition.

Portlands oval had the juniors on it yesterday, and it didnt even look like there had been rain all of last week. was in excellent condition
no muddy patches and will allow for a fast free flowing game on saturday! will be a belter of a day.

The western suburbs (Port way) ovals seem to hold up really well, the sand obviously makes a hell of a difference...

So basicly start practicing jumping fences.
I can understand paying for the GF but $15 is steep, other games shouldnt be any charge though!!

Don't get me wrong Lutz i Love Josh's Work on and off the field. However the referring to himself in the third person ( Mood-Dog) is a bit tiresome and it seems to be infecting others with the A grade coach now referring to Robbie Wilson as Rob Dog. Please make it stop!
