Spoc too good on the weekend - played the conditions probably that little bit better then we did... I think Cantwell is far and away their best player. Seems to murder us everytime we play them, and Copping showed a bit of class with clean handling in the atrocious conditions. Hopefully we get another crack at them, but have to concentrate on this week for now.

Plenty on the line against Walkerville this week! Grand final spot and promotion. Huge crowd at bartley terrace promises!

Copngrats to our c Grade who marched straight into the GF with a good win against Iggies. First year coach jay Sharpe has done a belter job in what is sometimes a pretty tough gig. And hes sunk plenty of pints along the way!

Does anyone reckon Fisty is still alive after the weekend?

he is alive but only just!!
Good work by your C graders to get in GF, some good lads in that side!

Bartley terrace, could have the mob travel down from portland for this weekends game!

as for the game, it will another close encounter, but I think that Walkerville will like the bigger SMOSH oval and use it better then they do there own oval.
Could be a different result to what we saw two weeks ago at Walkerville!

Para Chokers, Para Wobbles, twice in three years, no good getting there and not being mentally tough enough to apply yourself!

Could be worse, your mob have had 3 relegations in 4 years. Maybe if you applied yourself a bit more you wouldnt be a big scared lump playing C grade football & D grade cricket. Step up.

Dont play cricket any more, I was no good anyway! And i worked pretty hard in the preseason and at the start of the year played B's before getting injured, my best was B grade footy, I feel I tried to get the best out of myself prior to injury. Ahh well, 2011...

Will struggle there, it's Iggs v SPOC

A's - SMOSH, home ground advantage
B's - Mitcham, boys are on a roll, looking for 5 GF's in a row
C's - Not a clue, but SPOC

Tips -

A grade - Very tough game to pick, my heart says SMOSH but says head says Walkies. Going with the heart, SMOSH by 1 point (although part of me wants SMOSH to lose, i would be great having them, Seaton and us all in D3 - keep travel to a minimum next year)
B grade - SPOC should be too good for the Hawks, 6 goals
C grade - Spoc to beat Iggies, 6 goals

Walkies were very good........their height in key positions was the difference. SMOSH kept at Walkies all day, but I think class won out in the end.

Should be a ripper this week, can see reasons why both teams can win. Just hope it is a fine day on a decent track. Good luck to both teams, 2 best sides for the year and deserve to be there.

Does anyone have an opinion on teams singing their song after a win on the opposition’s home ground? I’ve got no problems with it if it’s a GF but other than that I find it fairly conceited, arrogant and disrespectful. What’s more, I wouldn’t have thought you’d be wanting to give the losing team extra ammunition for when you play them next.

Didnt get to see the game but The oval was all that divided the 2 sides IMO
The bigger oval suits Walkerville while the smaller oval suits SMOSH more.

Would SMOSH be disapointed in the end result for them?
Blokes I had spoken to during the season were talking about going straight back up.
IMO smosh should have stuck it out in div 2 this season and could have built on that and had a crack in 2010.
Now they will have to wait till 2011 or possibly later!

No problems with it at all. Entirely up to the team who won - if they win, they can sing it where they like.

If the losing side need to hear the opposition's song as motivation for next time, then they have other issues to worry about.

Never once in over 200 games of footy has the opposition singing their song on the oval bothered me - i dont like hearing it, as it meant we lost obviously, but i dont begrudge them for singing it.

Why worry about what the opponent is doing, get onto worrying about the reasons they are singing it in the first place !!!

In hindsight, you can say that Fisty. Would have they had the side this year to stay up in ? - maybe, but history now.

I would think SMOSH have a good base and depth of players to be around the mark again next year.

Thats what I meant, they have a good enough base to have been competitive and possibly stay up, leavign them to continue building for the season after!

I dont think there side would have differed much at all, Did you guys have many new recruits this season Schimma??
I dont think there was many from the names I seen running around!!
