Golden Grove vs Greenacres

Looking at the forecast for Saturday and taking into account the large Salisbury Oval, I'll make my prediction for the big game.

Both teams have had tremendous seasons with GG finishing minor premiers and Greenacres producing some solid performances throughout the year. They both thoroughly deserve their Grand Final berths and the game should be a belter with plenty of skillfull players around.

I think given the easy month GG have had, it is going to pay dividends on Saturday, Greenies will come out firing and it will be a gruelling contest for the first half. Scudds and Forth will both have a lot of room to move and I'd expect good returns from both players. IMO, GG have the extra leg power, which is something that is going to be predominent late in the game in the trying conditions, I wont take anything away from the Dragons though, they are a class act and well drilled side who stick by each other and continually find something extra when things aren't going their way.

I'm going out on a limb and selecting GG by 38 points, I think the tough games that Greenies have had in the lead up to the big match might take their toll compared to the walk in the park that GG have had. Having said that, it wont surprise me if I'm totally wrong and the finals hardened Dragons find something extra yet again and take the flag.

Sorry Turk & Griff, it's been a pleasure watching your team and reading your posts over the year and I wish your club all the best in div. 4, I'm sure you guys are on the way up for the next few years, I can only pick one winner and I hope for your sake's, I'm wrong.

nice work LM..i have similar sentiments about the legpower, will do my verdict tomorrow..adding the bog was a a nice touch..nicely balanced footballer simmons..i will preview GG later today

if edwardstown went to sfl..would that mean only 1 team gets relegated for the grades below them..as the div 2 10th team would go down but not the 9th as they are needed to fill the open spot? this would ripple through all the grades

I am very interested as to how the game will be won on Saturday and what players will shape it.

IMO Greenies will need to obviously win the hard ball and their forwards must fire.. must fire.. skills have been down a little in recent times and a couple of big names been quiet, forth, hudson, ryan, tatkovich, with the growing injury list I am concerned who will be damaging on the weekend. The big bear will need to go forward I think to help wright to kick a winning score.

On the other hand GG have had plenty of rest and ample avenues to goal, I have only seen them once this year so not up to speed with the names, who will stand who. I dont think greenies have anyone for scudds, leg speed and delivery will give scudds to much ball on the large oval no matter who is on him. Can GG defend against Greenies forward line?

Zed...from greenies and I'm sure GG point of view that would suck :(

I know how hard the committee, coaches and players have worked this year but from a club point of view promotion to Div4 is the reward for playing in a GF...IF that happens and only the winning team goes up a div then there is going to be 1 very dissapointed club come round 1 2009

lol Turk, you would still both go up. It's the ninth placed team who would stay in the division.

Leave turk alone, I think he has some pre-game nerves, good on him, take the day off tomorrow, have a round of golf at Valley View or something non-stressful

I picked Valley View because it's the easiest course going, even I can get a decent score there and go home with the same amount of clubs that I went there with.
