DIV 1 2007

Postby Shirtfront » Mon Jun 18, 2007 3:01 pm

Just rumours, no way they would join. SFL is a shattered league. Bogus results every second week. They reckon that their top 3 sides could match any team in Div 1. I would like to see that, have seen a couple of SFL games, not fantastic standard and the bigger, physical bodies of Div 1 would hurt them early in a game and put em on the back foot.
Speaking of physical, watched the Gaza V Broadview game on the weekend. Great game, huge contests. If only the AFL would allow big collisions and 1 on 1 footy again. If Broadview can keep that level up, they might scare or even smash a few teams. Gaza were a bit worried.
Any truth to the rumour that Pascoe has quit footy due to Deep Vein Thrombosis?????

Not sure about quit for good, but yes, currently can't play due to course of blood thinners etc.

Makes TTG form maybe more impressive???

Saw bits of the Broadview V Edwardstown game. Left at half time to see Gaza game. Edwardstown played 3 loose in defence 5 min into the 2nd quarter, leaving the Tigers backline to run riot through the midfield. They really are bad. Gaza looked good again.

Yes, i guess it is a shame that Uni will not be in Div 1 next year, but after all the fanfare of last year, the continual cockiness and the constant barrage of Premiership talk from the Blacks, maybe karma has taken a swing and knocked em out.

certainly didn't come from anybody that i know from the club - we were more, "feck, its going to be a long cold winter for many blacks sides this year".
hopefully it won't be the start of slide and 2009 will see the blacks back up in div 1.
