Your C grade umpire is GG club man through and through he umpires your cricket as well!!! So don't bullsh#t the rest of us.... As I said great game of footy could of gone either way, just not sure why your umpire thinks he needs to be a wanker and cheat. Doesn't do anything for the game & clearly its not just me that thinks it!
We lost all good, by u defending him you obviously didn't see the game or have no morals or you might be his son or daughter or maybe even wife either way (poor form)!!

Shows what you know pin head. We have no association to the cricket club AT ALL.
If we're going to talk umpires lets talk about your D grade umpire who is the most scared little old man going around. Will not pay a free kick against anyone from Modbury for fear they may wait for him in the carpark after the game with the rest of his bikie mates !! If you're going to talk about bad umpires have a look at yourself first pal.

It's Div 8 football. If anyone can find me a decent umpire I'll be very surprised.....

Choccies lets keep it civil! How did you go against our 301 gamer G Beveridge? When the game was there to be won or lost did you stand up and ensure he was kept goal less? Please enlighten us.

Only found out which one he was after the game. Great effort, as I said. I shook his hand and congratulated him on it. He has my respect.

Sorry Choc have to pull you up on this.
Our D grade umpire deserves far more respect than what you have shown. The facts are he is a life member of MFC, a former long serving club president (a very popular one at that), Saturday night cook, still the oval line marker, club cleaner oh and the small fact that he has as of this year umpired over 500 games of football. Respect where respect is due my friend!
Similarly respect to Wayne for volunteering his time at GG not just in umpiring but no doubt in other aspects of your club. I know Wayne and he is not a bloke that would like to be questioned, he may have paid a few dubious ones and when questioned would love paying more/not paying free kicks….. just like many club umpires.
Will add some more spice to next time the 2 clubs meet

Hardly relevant to my point FS. Congrats to him for being so loyal and long serving and for obviously putting his hand up to help wherever he can. But he is obviously scared of a couple of guys in your team. I don't care, nor have I mentioned that any of the umpires on either side payed some dubious free kicks. (I used the word "bad" and that is probably an incorrect word to use so I apologise for that). But it's Div8R FFS. It's expected. It's the things he saw that he blatantly ignored that concerned me.....

I wont stand for a club legend of ours being called "the most scared little old man going around" when the facts couldnt be further from the truth no matter what your 'observations' were. Dave has no reason to feel threatened by anyone at MFC and I mean anyone....

Gents, really. Modbury hasn't had any comments this season in regards to B grade umpires and to harshly critisize a guy that has umpired over 500 games is a bit rich. I think Dave misses as much for Modbury as he does for the opposition, but always looks to be fair. As far as Saturday is concerned I will not be bothered going on with the accusations. If FS and the MFC Committee are not lodging a report with the umpiring director then let it alone. Very well played by GG who won the D8 game and looking forward to the return match.
Choc I ask about G Beveridge because he kicked 2 quick goals in the first 3 minutes of the 3rd quarter and another later in the quarter to take the game away from your boys. I was trying to heckle you, but you failed to take the bait. Oh well next time.

Just on the D grade guy. I didnt really think he was all that bad apart from letting things go a bit when they could have got out of hand, I do think the exact same thing about ours also. A few of your guys were a bit of the mark at times and let us know by a late hit or an attempted swing, a couple of your guys said to me that this was the worst it had been all season so maybe a one off. There was a guy who gave one of our players a smack to the cheek and our ump was watching and did nothing, was only after we said to him that he cant let that go that he did something and sent him off, as I said earlier he came in and apologised after the game.

We were really dissapointed to go down to you in the D grade and deffinately think we have a good shot on the return leg at Harpers, both games should be rippers.

That is one of the major problems in this grade is what gets let go. We have an expectation that the player with his head over the ball or going for the ball will be protected and when they doesn't happen we complain. Rightly so. Often the problem is not a lack of care, bias or anything like that it is that the umpire isn't in the right position to see enough. Too slow, too inexperienced or too lazy. To top it off they really don't want to make a report and have all the hassle that goes with it. Unfortunately it is what we have, but we can still have an opinion.

Just wondering how the Salisbury ground is looking with all this rain. Boggy underfoot or will hold up?

Last night it was great, haven't been out there today though. Normally holds up really well with just the cricket pitch area getting a bit boggy.

Another two tough games of footy today vs Salisbury on their deck (which was in great condition) D's lost C's won. Umpires did a great job in both games letting play go on, looked after those who put head over the ball.. IMO Modbury had loads of the ball but didn't finish, it was a hard slog all game. 2 weeks in a row its been tough and hard, good for the image of grass roots footy. I noticed 90% of the Modbury C grade went in after the game and had a beer really good to see!

Thought that the Brahma Lodge umpire in the Div 8 game was excellent (i believe ours does a consistently good job too)and that both umpired according to the conditions.
Was excellent to see.

As my previous post said two tough hard games Modbury v Salisbury yesterday, however the more I think about it the more I realise it needs to be said.
Late in the D grade game a small scuffle broke out involving 5-9 players maximum nothing major. However a COWARD from Salisbury ran 30 meters to blind side one of the Modbury boys! (DISGUSTING COWARDLY ACT) I did hear that a SAAFL official was there and did report him.. IMO people like that have no place in our game and I do hope that Salisbury act!

Agree this needs to be actioned and players like this taken out of the game , but seriously talk about glass houses! You had players giving late hits and punches all game when we played you last week. I mentioned before so much so that your coach apologised to ours after the game. I will say that all were generally in play and were late hits by slower players and a couple sneaky hits in stoppages, none were as mentioned above and just whacking a bloke off the ball. No one plays this game to get hit, it's rubbish.
