As long as they have half a dozen players in their b grade who are capable of stepping up to the a grade, I don't think they would care where their b grade finishes.
When they were a powerhouse in the 90's their b grade was always below average.

Marbles - would be getting on the mighty Chics. Think you will find that Kilburn will take a power of beating for the flag. Already they are favourites here with the punters and they are getting a top side together. The 3 peat is looking more and more likely all the time. Port District, Gepps Cross, SHOC and Walkerville look to have very good sides and are recruiting heavily as well, and maybe one of them can topple the Chics. Those 5 sides seem certain to play finals. Flinders Park and SMOSH might be the smokies.

Think the SANFL bid has sailed. During the 90's the mighty Chics were trying to be the 10th team in the SANFL. Posters and stickers were put all the way up Tynte Street, North Adelaide around the old Amateur League house and distributed wide and far. The club if admitted at the time, would have made a very good 10th team, with fantastic amenities and oval. The playing stocks at the time were first class and they had a terrific coach in Steve O'Connor. They would have acquitted themselves very well, without winning many in the early stages.

Well of course the club I'm sure would want all their grades to do well. No club would treat their other grades like they don't exist. That's not what I meant.
But what would you prefer, an ok a grade and an ok b grade, or a very strong a grade with a below average b grade?

A clubs success is ultimately decided on their a grade flags isn't it? I would say it is a bonus if the rest of the grades in a club win flags too.

And it's just the way it is that when you have a successful a grade side, your depth players are always going to be on the look out for other opportunities. I reckon almost every club would go through that.

Don't disagree that all Clubs strive for A grade success (premierships and promotion) and the opportunities they present. My point was specifically to your comment that "you believe clubs do not care where their B grade finishes". I disagreed. Players who transit between the A's and B's when opportunities arise invariably do better when doing so from a position of success and strength. It may not be what you meant but its exactly what you said. Oddly enough you then posted "of course the Club I'm sure would want all their grades to do well. It seems were in accord now..... ;)

On a separate topic. I was wondering now, if a Walkerville person could let us know how they manage to fit all their new recruits into the side, given the points allocation. Through the ex Gaza players alone I count 18 points, plus another 6 points I think from Riverland recruits. Have these players being made aware of this and that they may have to play numerous games in the b grade (like recruits last year had to) in order to keep the team under the points allocation in particular games?
If all these players could play in the 1 side, then give them the premiership now. No way in hell could any defenders stop both Heinze and Fisher as their 2 key gun forwards. They would both be unstopable in div 2.

I'm thining the best way to keep it away from the forwards is to get first use of pill........The midfield is where it all starts (and sometimes ends....).

That is true. But they have also signed some very handy on ballers too.

Are there two Travis Natt's at Port Districts, because the Travis Natt I know is over 6 foot and plays a key position roll down back???

They tend to worry about that (the points issue) later. Their B and C grades will continue to play in GFs (with their Bs carrying many more points than their As) and their A grade will be middle of the road. There will be many disgruntled players. Until the Cats sort themselves out and focus on getting their juniors back to play seniors, they'll yo-yo between D2 & D3
