He's a great bloke. Hasn't played for a few years. Played b grade for us but always had the potential to play higher

Highly doubt it's true. Have heard they've been getting great numbers on the track. However just noticed they pulled their c grade side

Great numbers but pulled their C Grade? How does that work?

Great numbers can mean 40 to 45 committed A/B grade players regularly training but nothing much outside of that to get a C grade team together particularly as they haven't had a C grade for years (not counting one year when a heap of players joined from a club that dropped their C grade). So I reckon their C grade nomination was only speculative to start with and they have now withdrawn by the deadline which they are entitled to do.

Quick check of their fb page indicates plenty of numbers at pre-season

Completely entitled. We did the same with our Under 18s.

DOesn't the C grade in the SFL play on Sundays or am I thinking of another comp?

Correct FC so every SFL club only has 42 seniors running around on a Saturday with many C graders playing in the "Sunday A's" because they can't play Saturday's. We've lost a few C grade stalwarts due to the shift to Saturday but the positive a getting more junior lads to progress into seniors even if they aren't world beaters should outweigh the negatives. The triple header concept is another bonus that wasn't around when we were last in the Ammo's

I'm a Brighton High Old Scholars originally and we played SAAFL from 1968 to 1990. Got to A2 in late 70's, dropped to A5 in a hurry then 2nd, 1st, 2nd saw us back up to A2 in 1988. Lost every game in 1990 to be relegated to A3, then merged with.Brighton who were SAFA at that point and formed the Brighton Districts and Old Scholars aka Brighton Bombers in 1991. A3 premiers in 1991 over TTG, 2nd in A2 in 1992 v Riverside and was A1 from 1993 to 1996. Joined SFL in 1997 and 20 years later are back in the SAAFL. Brighton were also in SAAFL from 1950's to late 60's.

Oh right, well I think the comp is better with you in it. Was this a decision that had been thought about for a few years? What was the determining factor? Did you cop much grief from the SFL?

I find it odd that there were two sides in the same suburb. I assume the old scholars played at the school?

No surprise mate, he lives out that way and has done for a few years. Plays cricket at Dublin.

He works in the evening so it's a hassle for him to train, was always going to happen at some stage.
