Pretty good numbers for December. Great to see the coach in there doing the laps as well and leading by example. Not sure if he is being a great leader or if Mrs G has told him to tighten up the rigbut none the less good early signs all round.
I seriously doubt they are in as much trouble as people are suggesting and there oval is truely now a great place to play footy. 2012s pain will bring about long term gain
We'll have to wait for the clearances to become official, but as reported so far, if Gaza have lost 1st Ruckman, 3 - 4 class onballers, CHF and a few others, you'd have to say they are not in terrific shape, and with the Messenger putting the stories out that they are on the bones of their ass, the big $$ might not be around to get the players to replace them? If they are chasing players from Div 4 & 5 adn 5R, it'll be a rude awakening for those players when they come up against a Div 1 side like St Peters or Henley, and the ever growing Premiership Favourite in Sals Nth.
Don't worry we have lost our share over the off season to country footy, its a bloody hard battle to fight, but we do have some really strong Under 18's coming through, last 2 premierships in Under 18 comp, and depth is strong. Gaza's B grade last year was a joke, so depth would have to be a serious worry for them.
If you read my post, it does not cry poor, it purely states that we struggle to keep players when big money is on offer from the country clubs. That is why we have put so much time and effort into the junior program and are seeing the results with home grown players. However we will continue to offer opposition players a chance to join our club, if you don't then you are not taking the football season seriously.
