the pleasing things are the fact we are playing with spirit, discipline and honesty
we make a point of always respecting our opposition and with that respect we will start to recieve it return but we have to keep on working hard to earn it
well done to the new boys and hopefully the two major injuries will not be as serious as first thought

Good points dee man, the side continues to pride itself of discipline, honesty and respect..

But to me..

Thinking over the game we failed to play 4 full quarters, we were complacent, lazy and a little over flambuoyant at times. In all honesty, given the circumstances, we showed Adel Uni TOO MUCH RESPECT! We should've buried them when we were up by 44pts at 3/4 time.

The most satisfying thing out of today is the fact that we can improve and play twice as good! And to the smart a$$ AU player who remarked after the siren "think your good?, wait till you play us on our ground!" all i've got to say is... BRING IT!

Lets not forget our two leading goalkickers kicked a combined ZERO goals between them! .... happy times at the cattery!

Was interesting to hear them say in one of their huddles how they were going to over run the fat lazy ovingham group. Maybe it would serve Adel Uni a bit better to show more respect to opposition teams even a below full strength Ovingham. I would assume however that like us they would NOT have been at full strength being that it is the Uni holidays. I look forward to the return bout later in the year and being able to pull on the boots myself. Other then that the game was played very fairly by both teams.
On another note. I dont usually make comment on umpiring standards but I must say that the one had today was probably the best umpire that I have seen in my 17 seasons of senior footy. Great stuff ump.

at this stage it looks like he only hyperextended the knee
he was up and about on itafter the game, much to my suprise and caution, and was even stating that he would play next week
kelman on the other hand, his ankle swelled up pretty bad but he is also wanting to be their next week
except for them two at this stage we only have one out for next week, tim the fullback on work, but we have upto another eleven that can play not including hutchy who could be available
hedgey and moorey maybe after the break which means we should have for this week a list of about 42 to pick from unless their is some late work detachments come through
will need them because iggies are playing good footy at the moment but we can and will get better
on another note, thanks bogan for your help on saturday
you are always welcome at the cattery and its your kind of character and humility that we want at the club
clearances are still open mate!

Looking forward to this hopefully being the last game of the year that I watch from the sidelines against Iggies at Hunter Reserve. 3rd on the ladder vs 4th and hopefully the lads can win against a very good unit in Iggies. They have pushed Rostrevor in their only loss so will be a very tough unit.

Thanks mate, appreciate it! Hope the lads go well today against a tough opposition! Regardless of the result, im sure the boys will still play with respect and for each other. Thats why this is quickly becoming such a good club to be involved with, tight knit and play for the right reasons!

No disrespect to my previous clubs but I havent wanted to play footy with any bunch of blokes more then the guys out there since my days at Kilburn in the mid 90s - early 00s. Really glad that yourself and DeeMan slightly encouraged me to have a kick because I had every intention of not playing again early this year.

a proud day to be a part of the ovingham football club rebirth today
down for a big part of the day with 8 changes to the team again, the pressure was on in a very good game of footy
the lads never gave in and lifted when the game was on the line
some great individual efforts but the team and brotherhood got them over the line
i am a very proud coach of a great little club
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

Well done Darren. Back being part of a footy club is the least you deserve.

Who knows, in a year or two we may face off on a Saturday!

Same here Phantom. With Big Owie doing a fantastic job up forward with about 20 goals in the last 3 weeks it would be great do just sit back and watch him play every week.
