pretty close at the top in this comp! 0.01% difference between us and FP!

Gepps Cross not playing might have cost FP the top spot from this week.

We have a fairly tough run now too, Broadview at home then Mitcham, SHOC and PAOC away! Seems as though Gepps Cross wont come up to ours on the last round of the year so the last game may be a forfeit.

Im still hopefull we wont drop a game in these ones but we actually need to kick big scores and keep sides down to keep the advantage! Going to be close at the end of the minor round!

Looks as though the rest of the 5 is pretty set now, cant see SMOSH or Salisbury picking up 2 games and % on Mawson Lakes now.

Gepps Cross out of the comp...does this mean we can still nominate a side in a forfeit so guys could qualify for potential finals?

I'm 99% sure that you still have to nominate a team each against the forfeit. Is it still a 10 goal win when you are up against the forfeit? With only .1% seperating us and FP at the top of the ladder this could be crucial in the mix up. We were due to play GX in the last round.

Yes you have to still nominate a team.

It will be interesting to see what the SAAFL do about this don't you think it's a bit unfair that to the teams that haven't played them in the second half of the season. I think they should change the scores so that everyone has a 10 goal win from the second half of the season. It could know cost Mawson Lakes a home final with PAC having a 22 goal win against them.

I think a bigger importance needs to be placed on what they're doing with the SHOC playing 2 less games scenario. It's a bit in limbo and it would be good to know what they're going to do because if the games are to be handed to Salisbury & SMOSH as wins it makes that spot for 5th all that tighter.

Alternatively if they apply the second half results to the first half it makes the race at the top a bit tighter as well ;)

No disrespect or offence to SHOC but why would they just hand you guys the wins/points? It's not Salisbury or SMOSH's fault you came late into the comp.

I think we'd be confident going in. When we played them last time around we were missing the majority of our forward line from memory, but then again we probably also had some guys in who have moved up.

At any rate we'll go in confidently I'd say - especially given our recent results. Comes down to selection night though, hopefully some guys come into the teams above as opposed to losing them. Some weeks we get a massive influx of players then the next we've lost our best 5!

Hope this is the influx week and then two weeks later you lose the 5 ;)

seriously you could at the very least keep their score down and kick a few against and help us with breathing space up top? We need to do the job on Broadview then too mind you.

C's and D's have the bye, is there some players in those grades who may need more of a run and play E's this week? For extra fitness of course ;)

As much as this may help us if they did do this and beat FP, I think that it is wrong that they are able to, or are they actually able to? I would assume if any it could only be those that played in their D grade the week before?

Can't drop more than 2 grades so only the D graders could pay if they wanted to, however with 150 on the training track and guys still missing out on games after 5 sides are picked I doubt SHOC would do this.

Spot on.

We could have done it the first time we played Flinders Park as well but ended up giving people that hadn't played yet a go.

C6 is for SHOC's E grade and that's what team plays in this. Nothing more or less

Did SMOSH really beat PAC by 104 points? that would be the shock result of the season...

Nope, both sides just agreed to put in those results and make up the goal kickers to match the scores.
Beat em by 11 and 13 goals in the two games last year too.

I would think 104pts could be the truth.

we lets be honest SMOSH of last year and SMOSH of this year are two completely different teams. PAC won the earlier game this year by 10 goals and it was 3rd vs 6th going into the game. It was a big upset but a needed victory as they are still two games out the five but looking strong. They have the forfiet win, mawson lakes, salisbury in the next 3 round, they might storm home and nab 5th spot.
