what a cheat, the bloke tried to stop the game at one stage, walked out onto the oval and tried to yell out to the ump to stop the game, wouldn't mind a fair go sometime soon hey, meanwhile kenilworths B grade ump is the best going round, good to see an un biased umpy floating round, cheers for the beers after too kookas

Yeah he was pretty good, seemed to let the game flow as much as he could in what was a pretty sloppy, hard fought contest.

Unfortunately, for Haven this very poor decision may cost them greatly, however Haven should never have given up a good lead in the first place. Seems the kookaburras played 2 different Haven sides in 1 game.

I would have thought though, that anything blatantly obvious as an absolute no doubt about it goal being called a point can be simply over ruled by the field umpire!

A similar baffling decision was made in the Rosewater v Glenunga game.. A ball was kicked in from about 50 out, and the Rosewater player got a hand to it, and then allowed the ball to trickle over the line for what he thought was going to be an obvious touched decision, only for the Glenunga goal umpire, who bless his heart wasnt the most athletic of blokes, and in fact the only time he moved at all was at each break, he signalled a goal, despite even Glenunga players saying the ball had been clearly touched.. It was looking like it may prove costly as Rosies got within a goal in the last qtr and were coming hard at Glenunga, until Glenunga settled and killed the contest with 2 late goals..

the field umpire can overrule the decision so if he didnt, he thought it was a point also.

if you want any cheats, play against Trinity and there goal umpire and B grade field umpire are the biggest ones.

Could also mean umpire wasn't looking or backed up a fellow rule man in the goal umpire. A blind man could have seen this goal

i dont think that is correct a umpire can only go up and say are you sure it was a point or goal andthen say from my view i thought it was a goal or behind...i had a similar problem few weeks ago from my angle it seemed like a goal i went to the goal umpire asked him several times each time he said im sure its a point nothing i could do

Interesting round this week

HV 3rd v BL 1st
WC 5th v Glen 4th
Ken v WOS - Kookas can claim a spot in the finals race
NH v AL - NH have to win to keep in touch, could go 2 games behind

This must be correct
On the weekend the Glenunga Goal Umpire got it wrong (im not saying he cheated)
With everyone else knowing it was touched the field umpires could not change his decision apparently
To some of the glenunga players credit they told the field umpire and Goal umpire it was touched...goal umpire wouldnt budge on his call and field umpires couldnt change it...
i spoke to umpires saying that surely common sense should take place when everyone has admitted it was touched......Nope!
Some like to say Arrogant, I like to say confident.

A field umpire can over-rule if he knows it was touched off the boot or he's in a better position close to the line.
All other times the field umpire can only ask the goal umpire if he's 100% sure it was a goal.

You tried Ash ;)

Massive game for the Valleys this week against Brahma Lodge at home. Win and we creep within a game of 2nd spot, lose and we fall back to the pack.

Big challenge for the B grade also. Am expecting Brahma to be much more competitive this time around judging by their results of late. We have a few players ready to come back into the side so should make for a big day at valley road.

Saying that our contest against Lutheran this Saturday is huge a massive understatement. As you said Ash, the A grade have to win to keep in touch if we're to stay in finals contention. Our game ins the Bs is as equally important, Lutherans B grade are obviously in Red Hot form this season at 13 and 0 and we need to knock them off to send a message to the competition that we are a fully capable premiership threat.

Our record against Lutheran is certainly not something to be proud of and is something we must improve on and I can see no reason why we can't his weekend. In the 18 A/B grade combined matches we've played against Lutheran since 2008, we have won a grand total of five, three in the A grade and two in the B grade. In 2008 we beat them in all four A/B grade matches and in 2009 we beat them once (in the A grade) in the four encounters during that year. On the ten occasions we have played them since then, we haven't beaten them in either grade.

While Kenilworth's goal umpire didn't make too many friends on Saturday afternoon, their blokes on the BBQ do a great job. Their burgers IMO possibly rival Lutheran's, which are amazing. From what I remember Glenunga's were pretty good too.

Looking from an outside perspective (biarst of course) Kenilworth for the last 5 weeks have been down @ 3/4 time and won on 4 occasions. Before anyone has cheap shots on umpiring ect I'm not rubbing it in or pumping up anyone's tyres. Its a very surprising stat.....
