The A grade was a pretty good game. We almost stole victory, had a fair few opportunities to win it in the last quarter and did hit the front at one stage but unfortunately the boys didn't take them. To the boys credit though after being about four goals down at half time we lifted in the second half but Brahma Lodge were good enough to hold on. Definitely an improvement on the 53 point loss when we played at Brahma back in round 3. Clark (number 7), who I now know who he is thank you Cossi ;) was very, very good. Very clean, with good skills plus he's very quick off the mark too. Definitely my favourite for the Div 5 medal now.

We had an awsome 49 point win in the B grade. It was a pretty even first half I thought as we gained a 3 goal lead at half time then a 4 goal lead at three quarter time, a 5 to 1/6 to 2?? goal last quarter set up the win for us. BL have certainly improved since round 3 but did die off in the last half a bit as we started to get on top. After playing and beating Fitzroy, Rosewater, West Croydon and Glenunga in the last four rounds it was great to come out and beat a top 4 side/ possible finals bound side in Brahma Lodge convincingly.

While I thought that he was BL's B grades best player and a good footballer at that, their ruckmen today (played up forward back in round 3 against us) is a f**kwit. Our boys got into his head a bit an he completely lost it, I felt kind of sorry for Brahma having to put up with his sh!t. There was one passage of play where the ball has come out of defence via a rushed kick and instead of taking an easy uncontested mark, he soccered it out of the air and booted it out on the full, WTF??? His teammates, had a go at him for it and I could clearly see their frustrations come out because of this idiot. Then at the end of the game all the Brahma boys met in the middle of the ground before going off but this idiot took his gurnsey off and stormed straight off, you don't need that crap from a teammate, hope he gets told to pull his head in for the good of the team. No one is bigger than the team they play in.

Yeah mate you guys ran a lot harder than our guys and spread well through the middle and set up well out of the half back line. Probably the best drilled side so far we have played/ I have seen this year. Number 33?? Was pretty good for you guys in the middle. Good luck for the rest of the year.

Well done to the 2 young lads who made their A grade debut for us yesterday. Both with bright futures at Norwood and North. That makes it 9 players 18 or under that have made their debut in the A grade this year, as well as another 10 in the B grade. The coaching panel is doing a great job in promoting the youth and the young bokes are responding accordingly

EddieV wrote:The North Haven B grade were one of the best sides i have played against this year. They just seemed to be everywhere in numbers and kept running. A real credit to them and their work rate. Playing in the backlines I knew in the first 10 minutes that it was going to be a tough day and think it was fortunate we stayed with them as long as we did.

Thank you both for the kind words Gentlemen, I thought both of you guys played pretty well. I'm glad we came out and played with the intensity we did after a month playing the lesser sides, really got to keep building apon it now. Yes Masha 33, Costigan was great. Our A grade coach who played in the twos yesterday actually said that was the best game he's every seen him play and I think most would agree. EddieV, funny you say about us being every in numbers, our coach Buzza said at half time about you guys being everywhere in numbers, particuly in our forward line, you always had 2/3 loose players in there in the first half. It showed how much your guys in the midfield were pushing back to help and I could clearly see that from defence/the bench.

The B Grade game was a really good hitoug after having a pretty easy 4 week run. Our backline was really tested in the first two and a half quaters, but we stood firm. I would much prefer having games like that than boring 15 goal wins every week.

A few of the Brahma boys had a brain fade towards the end, but there wasnt much in it. The whole game was very physical but clean, which made it all the more enjoyable. Gotta tell ya, I havent been this sore on a Sunday in a long time.

Great game. Could be interesting if we meet in finals.

It was funny because only half an hour before that he said he didn't know what the hell he was still playing for because he felt like a cripple

Well as he was going to hospital yesterday I said to him to send me a message to let me know how he is...and he actually remembered to do that, I'm impressed ;)

Havens losses coming as no surprise to a couple of the older fellas at the club from what I've heard. Minimal numbers on the track, even for the in form B grade. The younger lads apparently doing the right thing, but the older guys too lazy. I wonder if they'll all show their faces if they make finals. I don't see them doing too much if they make the finals if this attitude continues.

Your kidding right? In my opinion both the A and B grade played a very similar style of football with skill and execution being the main difference. I can see the B grade going very well in finals as they are possibly the best team i have played against this year.

My comment was tongue in cheek mate, good on ya for still having a kick at 37 :)
The guy you said should be in Bubble wrap turns 36 in a about 6 weeks so not sure what the age has to do with it.
And BTW I, have you both covered, Im still playin and turn 39 in a couple of weeks :)

The B grade has a lot of talent in it, and would be favourites for the flag? And I'm sure that Haven are still playing decent footy, they have a lot of talented and experienced players running around for them. But I think you would want most of your team training as often as possible, for obvious reasons, because fitness/skills/etc will fall away. IMO if the other top 5 teams are consistently getting good numbers to training, and NH aren't I know who I'll pick come finals.
