Its just another conspiracy agains No Mercy, first it was the umpires, then the SAAFL and now the coach of Port u/18's

Its all good for you Sturtman understandably as the Port Magpies 18s coach is a Portland boy........
I do care, why shouldn't i ? i do look at the best interest of the lad involved & our club for your information, if i didn't i wouldn't be doing my job would i?You think the whole team was told to have a rest, well you talk out your ar$e, if that was the case we would of been told that directly from Port when we phoned them but wasn't.
Instead of trying to be a smart ar$e Sturtman get your facts right, i have alot of contacts at Port, that doesn't mean i expect any favours. ( just honesty & thought for the player involved, ( maintain his confidence not lose it )
Why tell a player to allign himself with an Amateur Club when he's not going to be sent back there? ( waste of time, just miss a week or 2 & find your attitude & form on the training track )

As far as the conspiracy your on about Sturtman have you heard about the one involving the Director of umpires against our coach?
Evidence has been supplied by 3 umpires & its in the hands of an SAAFL deligate, it will be handed over to the SANFL very soon if theirs no satisfactory outcome, our coaches patience is running out with the SAAFL.
Watch this space.

I never said you didnt care Mercy, the question was asked what club he was aligned. We both have different info on the subject.
I'm number 1, so why try harder!!

No surprises there

PAOC are CLEARLY the best side in the competition. Portland are over-rated, Seaton are the quiet achievers, CBCOC are next best behind PAOC, Iggies on their day are good but when they are off they come back to the field, Mitcham have over-achieved this year, SMOSH hit and miss, Para Hills a disappointing year (losing 2 games we should have won would see us in the race for the 5)...........

Really, ya think ?

Enough of the sarcasm, obviously agree with your first comment. Are we over-rated ? Perhaps, but the only teams we havent been able to beat this year are PAOC and Iggies - the top 2 sides. I think we are sitting exactly where we should be. Seaton are not quiet-achievers. Everyone expects them to do well this year, up until now they have under-achieved. Im sure even Seaton people are not overly happy with where they are sitting currently, but i agree they look like coming home with a wet sail. CBCOC are not the second best side, but are not far off it. Mitcham are doing ok. Very similar to us, they are trying to establish themselves as a good D3 club and earn some respect. SMOSH are up and down, not sure why. Still a good side, and could cause havoc if things click. Para Hills are this years biggest under-achievers by a long way. If they had of lost 2 more games instead of winning them, could have been relegated.

Still a long way to go this year, for all teams.

thanks for the endorcment ;)
also i honestly thought Portland would get up at home with all those ins, so somewhat surprising in that one.

good game at mitcham yesterday. massive breeze going to one end was a big influence on the first half. if we kicked straight early may have been a different game but to mitchams credit they always had good numbers at the ball, but struggled to get it passed our HB line. they could be trouble for some teams if they make the finals.

Saw the Portland and Igs game on the weekend- I cant remember Igs winning too many games down at Portland previously so it was certainly a good win for Igs. Given their percentage, one win from the last 2 games should get them a double chance.

I get the feeling that they are the only team which may be able to give PAOC a scare come finals time. With the number of SANFL premiership players in their team if they can get themselves through to the GF, the proven experience on the big stage may just to challenge PAOC.

Plenty of footy still to be played of course...

Gee that really gives a young player confidence and keeps him fit and in form to not play any footy. Good way of loosing young gifted players from our game at an age when they are easily swayed to other areas in life. Maybe someone from Alberton way can give me a SATISFACTORY answer????

The player in question is a Port Adelaide Magpies player first and foremost. He signed a contract at the start of the season, saying he is with the Port Magpies.
There are some strict guidelines in regards to training sessions (including recovery sessions). If you miss them and there is no real reason then you can expect to be penalised.
The player you are referring to is very talented, but would admit himself that he has done the wrong thing.
Its also not the first time this player has done it this season.
There is also another gifted player who will probably be drafted at seasons end in the same boat this weekend.
The rule is the same for all players. All very well to be talented, but you also need to be disciplined and commited as well.

I'm all for TEAM RULES & DISCIPLINES & i understand the lads signed with Port Magpies.
I also understand that all players are told to allign themselves with an SAAFL Club for obvious reasons ( being dropped, disciplined, lack of form etc )
This lad was dropped twice for the same reason earlier in the year yet was told to go back to his Amateur Club & play.
Why was he allowed then but not now? Has it got to do with the 4 game qualifying rule put in place & the SAAFL club involved?
In saying that he had 2 games under his belt with his Amateur League Club prior to the bye last week of the SANFL.
His SANFL coach told him he can't play the week of the Port bye & the following week with his Amateur Club  which would of given him the 4 games to qualify if in need for finals ( if not required by Port of course )
The lads Amateur League coach questioned the reason with his SANFL Club for him not being allowed to play the week of the bye as he thought it was in the best interest of both party's for form & confidence to play, the club agreed & let him play.
That gave him 3 games & now his SANFL Club have done a complete backflip on it, so he can't qualify by playing his 4th game this week.
I wonder what the real reason is???
I bet if he was alligned to Port Districts or Portland things would of been completely different.

No Mercy the player in question played in the U18s at Port in his last game.Of those 22 players there were 4 players who were given permission to play locally, and your player was on of them. Players went and played for Salisbury, Salisbury North, Port Districts and Seaton.
From that it hardly sounds like there is favourtism to Portland and Port Districts.
Reality is if the player is keen to stay at Port (and i'm pretty sure he is) he will play finals for the reserves or the U18s at the Magpies, so he shouldnt come into your finals calculations.

Some clever reporting. The over rated part is somewhat confusing. From having hardly any consistent scoreboard pressure (in each game to win), then win 7 out of 9 games? Pretty much we were written off by everyone and we turned that around. I cant see your point about being over rated. If you are saying it in jest you are very funny if not, well? I agree with Felch about Seaton in every way. CBOC are not the number 2 for the division. Iggies are clearly above them. Again i dont agree with yuor staement on Mitcham, How? Smosh tend to agree with you but are much like Seaton where they can be the side taht takes it up to the top 3 if they can string good performances together. Also i agree on PH. They would be dissapointed they are a great outfit with talented players just like us at the start of the season.

pretty dissapointing day saturday for the Thunder, won 3 quarters of footy but lost the game our second quarter was second rate and in the end was the difference and against sides like iggies you cant affored to do that.

tomich was really good for iggies as was pedler (we kept kicking the ball down his throat) big stephan white went down with a calf very early on in the peice and would pressume he will miss 1 or 2 tom car out for the the year with a torn hammy, even undermanned iggies played good tough footy and are imo a genuine contender,

on a possitive note, the thunder had 5 blokes come back in on the weekend who have had a reasoably long stint on the side lines and all got through unscaved next week we plan on unleashes the big turtle tommy lipson on CBC and hopefully Another big forward to do some damage.
was also great to see the Iggies boys hang around for a drink or 2 and a chat imo looks good on the club

I heard one of Portlands 'big' forwards did some damage on the weekend and jagged 5 goals after a month on the sideline?
He must be a smokey for the association medal now? ;)
