Didn't read anywhere anyone blaming the loss on the umpiring. I think a retraction is in order FC.

Comment wasn't aimed at NH, there are a lot of guilty parties that will blame the umps before their own poor performances ;)

Were fitzroy better over the ground? Yes
Were Haven's off in all stages of the match? Yes
However a 6 goal loss was more than fine to take, As haven were very ordinary. There last month of footy would be 80% above that performance. I think that loss will already be swept away. Not sure how much fitzroy can really take from the win. To other clubs.... Gotta watch number 8, clean and accurate. My advice is adopt the same attitude A's former st Kilda tagger, stevie baker.... Pick one spot and keep jabbin him till he don't wanna kick no more goals

Is that what you tried yesterday? So, he didn't want to kick any more after his 12th. Good luck with those tactics

No pin head. That's why I've given the advice to the rest of the teams. However if teams find it works.... Sore Sunday's!

as i said footy chick, fitzroy were to good all over the ground, north haven were crap, i'm just confused as how someone can come and watch our umpires and think that the crap they pulled on saturday was acceptable, yes we had players opening there mouths when they shouldn't of but when impires are blatantly making up rules as they go people will get upset, would be nice to get a fair go and some consistancy from the blokes in orange

thats true, also sent a guy off for saying 'well done' alson payed a 25 mtr penalty for back chat from the 50 to the goal line, also payed a second free kick from the goal line because someone behind the goals yelled at him, tried to ban one player from talking at one stage too, fitzroy gave away free kicks during the game and back chatted yet we didn't recieve any 25 mtr penaltys, ruined the game

if so then don't worry as 20 years ago I was coming back from injury and played C Grade - umpire made a free kick up and as I stood the mark just said to him "and you wonder why you are umpiring C Grade" he sent me off

Didn't have far to walk as it was on the boundary line right at the interchange gates

You are playing Div 5 Bubba so in reality you are going to get the standard of umpire to suit the grade. I imagine the best umpires are allocated to the higher grades although im sure at times clubs in higher grades may disgaree as well

its not always about the standard..its about egos and some of these guys go on power trips once a whistle is put in their mouth..thats the problem..sh1t umpiring is just that..but some do this just for the power trip..the reasons for sending a player off or awarding 25m penalties needs to be made black and white..not at the whim of a guy in orange..

Zedman cmon do you really believe apart from maybe 1 or 2 that the majority of umpires are out there on a power trip to ruin the game and just feed their own ego. well there not there trying to officate the game the best they can.

i said "some" not all..i see it every week..what i am asking for is a clearly defined set of rules for awarding 25m penalties, frees and sending players off..awarding frees and 25m penalties for questioning(not swearing) an umpire is not a rule..so how come they can do it? you are naive if you think some dont love the power when they are out there..just my opinion..you dont have to listen to it :)

How hard is it to keep your mouth shut? I was at the game and yes some of the decisions were questionable but they were only given because the North Haven players gave them an option to.
If they had have put as much energy into attacking the ball and beating their opponent as they did talking/arguing (there was no abuse) with the umpire the result may have been different.
Fitzroy just wanted it more and didnt let any umpiring decisions distract them. They deserved the win.
They are straight to their word, they don't talk a lot of smoke and mirrors behind windows.

bit quiet on here  few big rounds of footy coming up,with Westminster playing their grand final this week. Win against Fitzroy and it really gives them a chance of staying up,lose and they are in real trouble falling 3 wins behind the 8th side. Brahma vs Havens will be a beauty whilst lutheran and Kenilworth might be a lot closer than might have been a few weeks ago.We have a huge game at home vs Glenunga. Could be a season defining round for a few clubs

I always really look forward to playing the Lodge, should be a good contest, Brahma is the best side I've seen our our A grade play all year and we really need to bring our A game and be switched on or Brahma will tear us apart very quickly, like they did back in round three. Got to to bounce back after a disappointing loss, which resulted in us slipping to 6th, if the A grade wants to feature prominently in the finals and stay with the top 2/3 we need to win this game.

Will be a good challenge in the B grade aswell, Brahma at 4th spot on the ladder look to be travlling pretty well, we got to win this to stay in touch with Hope Valley and Adelaide Lutheran and to get our second win in as many matches against a side that we could face again in the finals.
