It's holding up OK.....

Tex is 32 going on 42 though Cows..... ;) I do agree though. Age is irrelevant, I'm 39 and making a comeback thru the C's when I can this year and loving it !! It's up to the individual though cos I believe if u can still cut it in the higher grades then why not give it a go. Some people don't have that desire and are happy to just have a kick rather than let all of their competitve instincts out...

As much as it pains me to agree with Cows, I have to defend him here. The C6 side at FPFC is the left overs from the other 3 sides. No doubt there is players that can play higher, but the C3 side isnt easy to break into. Trust me, I would know, I played 2 years at FPFC and played mainly C6, the C3 coach didnt want to pick me, so i went up between D2R and C6. Any player below 30 in my opinion shouldnt dictate where they play, I can see where veterans (like the cows, he is all but a pensioner), can say they just want to play C grade or below to stick around the club, I have no beef there, but the thought of young lads dictating where they play is ridiculous. And unless I read it wrong, whoever from GGFC suggested that Flinders would stack there side this week against them is ludicrous, I know I may come under scrutiny here because this forum is 97.4% Golden Grovers, but if you think along the lines that Flinders care enough about your club to stack there C6 side, you need to pull your head out of you deriere ASAP..

I don't think anyone from GG suggested they would stack their side at all thorpedo...... and I don't think we believe that Flinders Pk rate us like millionaires either. Just one team against another mate. 20 whatever against 20 whatever. So maybe you did read it wrong.... or someone who can read, read it to you wrong ??

That was just another dumb comment by footy rulz! No one would suggest that FP would bother doing that. if you read back over his comments they are generally followed up by another member saying he does not speak for the rest of us etc..I in know way think that FP would bother, nor need to for that matter they are strong in all 4 grades.

like I said I was just curious, other clubs in this position have done it in the past and will do it again in the future. I never actually accused flinders park of anything...

Hefty wrote:A lot of people come on here and slate club umpires but I must commend the umpire from Mawson Lakes on the wkend. Was one of the better umps we've had all year and to even send off one of his own for abusive language was something you don't see too often.

Huge anticipation for the top of the table clash against FP this wkend. We will be going into the game nearly full strength and would imagine it will be a "finals type" game. Also good luck to our C's who have hit some good form of late and have a huge challenge against the flag faves but think they will atone themselves v well!!

Micky Miller is the club umpire in question here. He was our 'B' grade skipper from last season and is having his first crack at umpiring and by all accounts is doing well. The offending player apparently forced ML down to 17 men after the lads were 'only' down by 7 goals with 15mins to play. Unfortunately this opened up the flood games being a man down and GG piled on seven unanswered goals. The coach was obviously upset with the offending player's antics as it brought a respectable result into an expected one.

Great game of footy today at gg.long drive buy well worth it,good 4 goal win to flinders pk even all day but parks to fit and ran over gg in the last qrt.I think marshall didnt play and i know parks have 4 to 5 playing c grade and shulz, robo and klompy didnt play so should be good come finals when both sides are at full strength.I reckon these two sides will meet in the grand final from what ive seen and read.

Agree 1 club, think we both had some key players out and we had a few go down during the game. We have though all along that FP were the side to beat, they are fit and fast. Would have beaten us first time round had they kicked straight. One all now so come finals should be a good hit out with both sides having full sides. We had about 3 go up to C grade this week and have had 3 key guys out including Marshy so we are fairly evenly matched.

Flinders park easily the best team on the day and I think a few boys maybe got a bit complacent in our team with 10 wins in a row, a loss is never a good thing but this might be the kick up the bum we needed to work harder and not just go through the motions.

Just had a quick look at the ladder and there really is nothing between GG and FP for the top spot on the ladder. One slip up in the next 7 rounds will cost a side top spot! It could even come down to one missed shot at goal or letting one through! I would say that PAOC and SPOC are in the finals now but interested to see who the 5th spot will go to? ML looked good when we played them and we have SMOSH and Salisbury over the next two weeks which will indicate to me where they are at. I initially thought Salisbury might sneak in but now I think ML are the ones that will get there.

Great win by our lads Saturday in some tricky conditions against last years premiers, hopefully that win gives them a lot of confidence and puts them in a good position to steal that 5th spot.

Old Dog think you'll find Brett "Juggies" Elsworthy is celebrating is 200th this wkend. Should be a big crowd up at the Burra Dome to help Elsy get a win in his milestone game. Great club man and let's hope the D's have a win for him!!

No 200th game for Juggies this week. The groin hasn't come up so he's hoping it will be OK for next weeks home game....
