congratulations to paul and his lads yesterday..were the better team on the day and thats what counts in grand finals..

they put some great pressure on us at the stoppages and after losing our ruck for the entire day in the first 3 seconds of the game we were playing catch up most of the afternoon..they got to 4 goals in front early and we then held them goalless for the next hour but couldnt put enough score on the board after hitting the front in the third..the match hardened dragons just kept working away and kicked vital goals when needed..they had some really experienced heads around the ground who went to the right spots at the right times and did the right things when it mattered..their defence were strong and disciplined..well played..

we managed a smile for our reserves team who got their flag this year after winning 36 of the last 38 games they have played..good reward for kosta and his group of players..off to silly sunday now and to forget about footy for a few months!

And now that's 3 in a row for Sherwood. Well done to WOS, not just for the GF win but re-appointing him before the day. You are in good hands Dragons. :)

After a big few days celebrating the win its hard getting back to reality. Was a great contest all day and I thought our quick reply after CLG hit the front in the 3rd was really important and stopped the momentum they had built up. Both sides would have been confident going into the last, CLG with their fresher legs and us being match hardened. In the end we got the first couple of goals and carried the momentum throughout the quarter.

Caught up with a couple of their players and coach after the game who were all great in defeat and I look forward to next years contests in Div 5.

One thing that did annoy me greatly after the game is that there was noone from the league there to present the cup/medals and in the end a security guard found them in a box behind the bar and gave them to our president - very ordinary IMO.

We got a heap of congratulatory messages from other clubs throughout the weekend which is one of the best things about amatuer footy. Everyone realises how hard premierships are to win and they get around the guys that do it.

Our players peaked at the right time of the season - hard to believe we were 5 goals down to CU at half time in rd 17 - 5 and a half games later we are premiers - go drags!

Further to your CU comment. Mitchell Park rolled WOS and were 8 goals to 2 in front at Glandore.

Incredibly tight comp

Don't be like that champ, i know its hard to take losing a grand final but im sure going up a grade counteracts that.

Rescheduled for the third time.

Should call for a mistrial I reckon.

Interestingly no pro bono lawyers available due to Div 7 GF incident.
