who is likely to be the best player come the end of play, can be from either side.

I reckon De vries is a chance to be it.
Laslett is always a chance along with perkins
If Bird was playing he would be the favourite IMO.
Anyone else want to chuck out a few names??

What do you mean by slicing half his leg off? Sounds a bit full on. What happened?

PAC over Portland - 15 + goals - according to a source, PAC have huge ins, forcing majority of last weeks A grade midfield to be playing B's.
Seaton over Scotch - 3 goals
Old Iggies over Smosh - they'll bounce back after last week
PH over kilburn - 10 goals
Mitcham over CBC - 4 goals - huge game for both clubs!!!

Our boys were taught a bit of a footy lesson today at Park 9. PAOC are a well-drilled and skilful footy side, and are pretty hard at the footy too. Cleggett is a gun, but the guy is going to seriously hurt himself the way he throws himself at packs and marking contests. Devries pretty good down back, although i thought Coppo was ok on him when we actually kicked it his way. Devries loves to float in and take marks in the backline, so making him accountable is a must. Roo kicked 4 but really had no influence on the game - pretty sure 2 of his 4 were from free kicks/25mtr penalties, and one other was a cheap one over the back. Granleese was excellent on him after halftime, considering how much ball went forward for PAOC. Roo did try to take on our captain Robbie Wilson in the goal square at one stage - anyone who know Robbie would know that he weighs about 50 kilos wringing wet, but is tough as nails. Big Roo couldnt get past him though, and was caught holding it. Fair effort i thought.
Dicko good for us with 5 goals from half-back/onball, and Laslett was great all day - probably one of the few blokes who won his possie convincingly.
We are a fair way off them i think, as is everyone else. Get the dremel out now and etch PAOC on the cup.

Big few weeks ahead for us, with Iggies this week. Hopefully get Wiles, Wareing, Moody, Gein and Thornton back this week or next. Lack of depth could end up being our downfall unless we can get guys back fit and firing. I know that is the same for all clubs, but our B grade arent exactly setting the world on fire at the moment (and didnt last year either i might add), so we need some luck with injuries to be any kind of show at a finals berth.

Now you have to keep your side together for a push into higher divisions. Hope so, leave us battlers alone!!!! 8)

Yup, at one stage in the 3rd term he crashed into a pack (spoiling DeV in the process) and came down with a sore right arm for a little while but seemed to get over it fairly quickly.

If he doesn't do it going for the grab he'll do it getting into fights. I think he copped a yellow on the weekend and from memory he was the guy who got dropped by the CBC fella after the game back in about Rd 5.

Very impressive performance from both PAOC and Cleggett yesterday.
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!

great win from the Hawks on the weekend. They started slow, but seemed to manage to get on top of CBC all over the ground. At one stage nothing could go wrong, our skill, decision making, and umpiring just seemed to happen for us. CBC looked like they lack depth, C grade forfeiting, B grade were very weak... and their A grade were not a '2nd on the ladder side'. The Hawks are looking forward to the PAC challenge next week. When PAC are 15 - 0, i understand they have a right to be confident. Its interesting to hear that PAC players including their captain are already claiming they've got the flag in the bag. Such an attitude can be dangerous, and comments made by the captain and other players are just putting extra pressure on the 21 PAC players come finals. It's obvious that PAC have decided to flop the cheque book out and recuit instead of developing their squad by seeing the D4 premier names like Moroney, Choimes, Fry, Blanch all playing B's. Just wondering if that might be the reason behind so many bloody punch ups at the Alma on Saturday nights?
