Smithfield should be to good for the Blacks IMO...players and supporters may well be in for a long day.

The B grade game out at Hicks Park may be a fizzer as I heard Rosewater had to cancel training Tues due to lack of numbers...can anyone confirm this???

Probably not the best side hey turk, you boys were out played out bodied and out classed you looked pretty flat and ordinary all day, hey atleast there is still next week.
To all the blackfriars boys, gee wiz so close you boys must of had heaps of injuries to go down like that, but hey there is always next year

Why must have they had heaps of injuries, they lost by 8 goals three weeks ago at the same ground.

i'll be honest LM....the day u beat us by 8 goals we were undermanned. yesterday it was pretty much full strength, it was shattering. apparently there was 90 secs left wen u guys got the point so if our kicker didnt run over the line it could of been interesting 90 secs, once that happend it wa sall over. well done on the win

Cheers mate, I felt for him. Mossy's mark will go down as a big memory for the club, it was very Nick Riewoldt like at a crucial stage of the game, he's a good finisher too.

I thought we played pretty poorly during the day, we couldn't hit targets and turned the ball over continuously, this was largely due to the pressure you guys applied all day. We were 24 points up at qtr time, 9 at half, 21 at 3/4 and obviously evens at full time. For a club that is in it's 3rd season, you showed amazing character and I can't praise your efforts enough, good luck next year and I'm sure you'll be a force in div. 5 again.

I'd like to mention that Lucas Brown unfortunately wont be taking part in the finals action this year, he broke his leg last time we played Blackfriars, mind you, he didn't find out til a couple of days later that it was broken, he has been an inspiration for the team this season and left a big a hole to fill with his work rate around the ground.

Rob Parrish is a very gifted player, his kicking is exceptional, 60 metre passes and hitting his team-mates on the chest, it was great to watch.

Went to the Greenacres vs Plympton game on Saturday to watch what was mostly a congested game of football, which perhaps was a key ingredient in the Bulldogs' victory. No standouts for Greenacres, couldn't dominate any position on the day after being harassed and pressured constantly through the midfield. You might say Greenacres seem unsettled and unerprepared, but that only takes the gloss off a big team effort from the opposition. A second quarter goal feast to Plympton set them up for the remainder of the day and were able to steady a couple of times after attempted comebacks by Greenacres.

People have forgotten the true meaning of mad Monday. It's not an occasion which is set aside and prepared for. If you have to miss Sunday to got to Monday it doesn't count. What's the point of missing out on Sunday just to get pissed on Monday. I you are going to go out just one day you should make it the Sunday. There are far more things to do on SUnday than Monday.

Was the oval a poo-hole? How did the standard rate in comparison to Div. 6?

The oval was fairly good except for a bit of bogginess around CHF at the southern end. We were having a leg at the other end (which was the goalscoring end for the game) and it was quite firm.

The standard of footy on Saturday wasn't great, but I can see the Div 6 top four sides giving a good contest, although they probably don't have quite as much class across the board.

Well done to smithies, a good game played by both and what a thriller to be a part of. We came back from the dead and nearly pinched it. not to worry a good season by the boys and some good times ahead of us. Plympton boys well done also, a great win. that money not all it's cracked up to be in finals, could it be straight sets??
Tell you what the Golden Grove boys were enjoying their weekend off though, absolutely blind at the pub sat night.. sensational form some of them were in, always have a good battle on the ground but good to have an ale or 3 out and about! If only ash knew hey BB  Heard Downy did a hamstring too? dear o dear season over for the young fella :( how frustrating for him.

Yes, I did hear a bit about that, apparently we've been told to move previously at other grounds because the home club has their own patch that they warm up on. I didn't hear of any pushing or shoving etc. I wasn't anywhere near there though. I don't really have an opinion on the situation, I was a bit stunned that it occured when I heard later on that night.
