Saw him last night at training and does have a nice gash under the chinny chin chin so maybe he was confused a little, as his big forehead did get a knock?

Anyway think what u like he doesn't care what ppl think of him and will be focused on this week only. As will i and the rest of the team. As we know what happened through the season is now over and it's a new ball game taking it 1 week at a time, good luck to all!

Well done for coming minor premeirs, well deserved.. Will the oval come up in time for your home final, coz that was terrible! hope the new one has some drainage underneath :?

I can see how it may have happened that way but from the reports i heard the impression was there was more to it than that. Seats is fine bar the gash on his head and we won the game more than convincingly so i think it is best left alone now.

Suprisingly the oval does have really good drainage. The issue at the moment is some cracked drainage pipes under that wing so the leak is causing more water under ground. That what was told to me last time the issue came up.

The new oval will be a gem. No cricket pitch either so it should stay Footy Park esque all year round.

Yes good form BB, leave it alone after you give our two boys a pasting... very classy as always  KFC hill, a question.. that wouldn't be on the COACHes box side of golden grove's oval would it?

Smithfield v Blackfriars

Both teams are used to playing finals, but Blacks have been winning finals since they joined saafl, and smithfield have lost some finals they probably should have won in the last couple of years. Smithfield is a tough place to visit at the best of times but in a final it will be even more fierce. However the hounds will be happy to go to an oval that has grass on it and this will assist their runners. Strangely, to me, parrish has not been used up forward much since he kicked 14 against our boys. Is he covering other areas at the expense of kicking goals? Demasi up forward has been useful but a firing parrish is much better. Players like Spry, stuart, glen holmes and howe will all be needed to play big games for the hounds to get the points. But are these players able to perform when tagged/watched heavily? Smithfield are true blue collar players. They do the basics well and are tough when it needs to be. They have stars of their own inlcuding taylor, bond, newman and fairhurst who the hounds will have to watch closely, plus a new breed of youngsters who dont carry losing finals baggage. A real good game again like the greenacres v plympton game.

I am leaning towards smithfield on the basis of some injuries to some key blacks players, home ground advantage and an ability to nullify what the hounds do best, run hard and use their skill. Conditons wont suit for that play on saturday imo.

Good analysis there zed, on both games. After playing BOS three weeks ago, I don't think that we can sneak much past them opposed to then. We'll just go and play our natural game and hopefully we're up when the siren goes.

It will be interesting to see Elizabeth and Smithfield align forces for a rare occaision, I have some mates that play out at Elizabeth, so I'll be getting down there early and giving them some support, hopefully they follow suit.

Plympton, you have your reasons and they seem to be pretty valid, it will be a great game I'm sure, I'll be tipping Greenies though.

Hahaha, Not the 1st or last bloke to rob beer from EFC!

Pretty disapointing year for the boys. What went wrong DW? U got the inside word!

The Division 6 writer is actually very average Zedman. His/her articles have got no bounce to them. No oomph. While your mob have been given a rough time in the Div 5 piece, I actually get a bit of a chuckle out of his/her work and his previews are different to all other divisions, though the Divvy 1s are also quite good.

TIPS:

Smithfield easily (8+ goals)

Zed..interesting insight into the games this weekend..not sure about the injury and balance concerns you refer to at greenies but as you stated it's your view..but on the subject of injuries we like most teams this year have not had a dream run but have managed to not loose a game in the last 10 weeks.. not bad for a mob that consist of a left, a right and the dangly bit in the middle...

Beware the wounded dragon..or all the bits combined might just bend you over and #%!* ya

However it is finals time and anything can happen

Both games should be crackers
Opinions and bumholes..you either have one or are one IMO

They would be disappointed, they were very competetive at times, their B grade made the finals, so they obviously had depth, they missed Halliday, Switala missed a few games, I'm sure they'll bounce back next year. Good luck to their B's on Saturday.

LM, what do they need to be a threat next season in the A grade?

I think the natural progression of some of the kids they played this year will make them stronger next year, a few less 30+ players that they had to play who I'm sure would prefer to be playing B's as they approach the end of their footballing days, Darren Ellis, Ells etc. Less injuries wouldn't hurt.

They were excellent against us both times, so I'm probably not the best to judge, we were 1 each, not much in it margin-wise either.

Havent seen em enough to comment in depth this year but.
A big year from "guns" Platten, Chris King, Trent Greensheilds, Daryl Cotter, Get a Benny Haliday clone, Get Gary Mac and Blake Pearce at a better body size and keep Ryan Allen and Josh Wittwer out of Centrals long enough! We will have a very good team
