are we talking about the same incident, not sure that we are, so i must have missed the one you are talking about. spry and g play hard and are very passionate about their footy, i'm pretty proud to have them around the place and proud of what they've helped us achieve over three years. they'll always go into battle for our club and give it a fair crack.
'went the knuckle on hoklas in the last encounter', what game were you watching buddy, bumping into someone at a ball up and then niggling him as he tries to run away is hardly going the knuckle. stick to the facts. don't know gentilcore so cant comment on that.

on your previous post you did report something that was correct - terry did yell out why aren't we tackling like that. it was a tough surface to play on and home ground advantage was evident. got a bit of a suspicion that you may actually be a bit closer to the bench than you indicate with your second snag and coldie comment, i could be wrong though.

well done to your lads this year, deserved top spot in both. good luck.
Yes were watching the same game. Probably being over zealous with my use of 'knuckle' as an adjective but you obviously remember the incident. If i remmber correctly it was after jay had burnt a whole through your backline in the particular quarter so the coaching move was probably justified.

Ill testify to the fact that both players go hard but every time we play you lads the same comments come from the boys aout how they would like to level both micky's.

In regards to being closer the the bench and the 'tackling comment'. It was something that was passed onto me/said to me after the game. Couldnt here it from where i was on the KFC hill.
Conditions were tough and we were very glad to even the ledger to 3 all, send you smithfield and get one on you at our home ground.

I thought Tilly (??) was your best on the weekend. Was some interesting battles all over the ground though. Thought the third was where it was really won though.

difficult to separate golden grove and greenacres. my money in all honesty would be on greenacres but not sure about the injury situation there.

plympton last 4 weeks have been good, averge margin 100ish but to sides out of the 5. lost to us, greenacres and golden grove and beat smithfield in the 2nd half of year, not sure really about them.
smithfield other than last week against greenacres have been pretty solid over last 5 or so weeks. will be a hard running and tackling opponent.
bos will do it tough from 5th but you've got to be in it to win it. need some dryer conditions in my humble opinion.

home finals will be very advantageous. whoever wins the qualifying final take your flippers to harpers field if it rains in the next two weeks.

as much as i really want my old team plympton to win, i dont think they can match it with greenies and gg this season. i havent played both those sides but going on there home and away records they seem to be a shoe in. might be another year in div 5 for the red dogs :(

your boys have had 12 hours of footy against them in two years and noone has had the opportunity to 'level them' as you say, i think its just talk mate, probably coming from mitch, he seemed to have a fair bit to say to some of our players and bench on saturday. its not like the mickys are never near the ball so you can make them earn it. you'd have them play up your way i'm sure.

Thats Mitch for ya! Never short of a word, a little unprofessional in my opinion.
I wonder how the 'supercoach' would go at a club that didn't already have the cattle their before he arrived?? Probably wouldn't be as talkative...

I saw him drift up for a bit. I didnt see the incident but apparently it was from behind and a bit of a swing. The game was well over by that stage and second snag and coldie was much more interesting. Straight from the horses mouth as to who it was. Its fiar to say that he we be the most despised player out at GG. He tired to go the knuckle on Gentilcore and Hoklas in the previous encounter and was made to look stupid then as well. The game was well over by the time of the incedent so a second snag and coldie was much more interesting.

What was with Parrish in the middle??? Thought he would have been much effective up front. Was the move forced to early injury glen-holmes? Quite happy not to have to put up with that tools antics as well.

PS: i dont want to sound like im going to town on you blokes as we genuinley have respect for you as a good footy team. I just draw the line at Spry and Glen Holmes.

Noticed Illy and M. Parrish in the b's as well. Out of favour or out of form? Thought both would be in your best 21.

zedman wrote: BB: how could spry have the power to hurt anyone..and cause blood!!..he would be flat out punching his way out of a wet paperbag..it must be a lie!

No lies. Plenty of guys saw it. Dont think anything will come of it (and shouldnt) ie; reports but lets just say if we move up a div we will be glad to be rid of the little pain in the arse.

Is seaton who we call "downy?" anyway had a chat to spry and he told me that he was on the boundary (changerooms side), chased after him, down syndrome ducked his head then come up and caught spryzey's chin, so no knuckles involved there BB (much to your dismay), just rotten luck. Saw him last night at training and does have a nice gash under the chinny chin chin so maybe he was confused a little, as his big forehead did get a knock?

Anyway think what u like he doesn't care what ppl think of him and will be focused on this week only. As will i and the rest of the team. As we know what happened through the season is now over and it's a new ball game taking it 1 week at a time, good luck to all!

Well done for coming minor premeirs, well deserved.. Will the oval come up in time for your home final, coz that was terrible! hope the new one has some drainage underneath :?

Not at all mate but out water sits on top at least, GG have that swamp out the back which keeps the water under the grass.. which makes it a slop 2 inches deep..

damn that quicksand tho, start of the year it isn't pretty to land on it, hard as a rock! The curator has a bit of work to do to get that pitch up for cricket season lol

Okayyyyyy who was it?
Someone was arrested early this morning for attempting to steal beer from the Elizabeth Football Club.
Hope it wasn't someone trying to get extra supplies for a footy trip...
Or was it someone who decided to make their Mad Monday extra madder?

I can see how it may have happened that way but from the reports i heard the impression was there was more to it than that. Seats is fine bar the gash on his head and we won the game more than convincingly so i think it is best left alone now.

Suprisingly the oval does have really good drainage. The issue at the moment is some cracked drainage pipes under that wing so the leak is causing more water under ground. That what was told to me last time the issue came up.

The new oval will be a gem. No cricket pitch either so it should stay Footy Park esque all year round.

Hey Lads, Pointy end of the Year.
Who are the Tips to play off in the GF? I still think that Greenacres and
A possible outsider in Smithfield!
Golden Grove still looks good but think that the Muscle of the above mentioned
may be the difference. GG did same in 07 just hope they’ve learnt.

Anyone got any Tips for the Medals??

BB, are the seniors playing on the new oval or is it for the juniors? Harper's Field is still relatively new, you'd be pretty lucky if you're getting another new oval to play footy on.

I'll throw in a smokey for the medal. We won 4 games all year but i'll be interested to see how Justin Salisbury will go, each game I have seen he has clearly been best on ground for us and probably in the best 3 on the paddock. Be interesting to see. I was impressed my the blacks a couple of weeks ago, I'll have them in the GF against GG.

Tell you what I reckon our club would be pretty happy hosting the div 2 elimination final at Kenilworth this week aswell.Sensational atmosphere, big ground and is in sensational nick aswell. I was going to go watch Plympton but that can take a back seat I reckon....

Yeah the plan is to get a new deck as well as the clubrooms/changroom facilities. Im not sure what oval we will end up playing the majority of the agrade games on but the facility as a total package will then allow the enitre junior and senior portions of the club to be at the same base. Opposed to the harpers/greenwith combo we currently have.

Should make for some big days and will also allow the three senior sides to be scheduled at the facility for the one day worth of footy. Long time coming for the club. So happy to see the building material finally around the place.

Greenacres v Plympton

Looks like a great game albeit to be played on a bog. I have so many queries over Greenacres players. We know they have injuries and other concerns e.g forth..they have A graders who havent played in the A grade the last 2 weeks.. they copped injuries again on saturday. Very unsettled team imo atm. But they have been strong all year except for a few hiccups in the middle of the year. They will enjoy the tough slog game on saturday. The Hudson boys and Tatkovic will relish the conditions. I just have to many player worries around Greenacres right now.

Plympton on the other hand have been quietly going about their business and although not defeating Greenacres this year they have had 2 very good battles. Dont seem to have any major injury concerns. Very tight team who have played finals the last couple of years. This year they look to be a better team and have some real pace, Smith has been the star up forward, and has a band of good players around him who seem to remain nameless, and are the key to Plympton winning. Geno will be his normal nuisance self but with the muddy hicks park deck lowering the the standard of the game its going to be one very very tough encounter.

At the risk of alienating a few Greenacres boys on here I am tipping Plympton in an upset 1-10

p.s. please dont hate..just calling it as I see it :)

will do the other final later..
