No bar??? Very unlikley.
I know for some reason they are calling the main area a 'meeting'/common room rather than 'front' bar but that is the first i have heard of any such thing FS. I havnt see floorplans yet but it would be a bit sad if it was the case.

Dont be suprised i have it from a very good source.... i was suprised as well when i herd it.

how much imput did the club have into the design???

Rumours are possibly very close to the mark. But 'stage one' of the construction wont have a bar as such from what I've heard, thus the use of the 'meeting room' but future stages will surely have a bar along with other specific areas of use. Unfortunate I guess but alcohol will still be sold from the BBQ area.

is this due to the council and government have over riding decision on the structure??? What stage is the new Oval???

Not to my knowledge FS, but I think the decision to cut the funds back from 1.8 to 1.1 mill has meant some re-arranging of the plans and the stage developments... so the important changerooms etc have gone ahead but non-necessities like the bar (yes everyone....settle down.. I know it's a necessity for some of you !!) will have to wait. Second oval is well under way and could be ready by 2010. Apparentely needs a full year to knit... Don't quote me on all of that but its what I've heard...

Its just i was looking forward to having a beer in your new clubrooms with you choccies (not from a can or bottle) but i guess it can wait haha

i think your on the money and with the hot summer and wet wet winter its hard the get the happy meduim to prepare the oval... does the club room face the new oval/old or both????

Yeah I'm not sure but I'd guess it may face the new oval as the current oval with eventually be used just for training and cricket... But dont hold me to that because anything can happen in TTG council !!

ive heard that the chemist may be lining up as cptn/coach of the D grade?
he has incredible skills.. ive seen him play 1 game where he only kicked checksides.
and 8 of them were goals

Simon Johnson was terrible, he made a lot of people leave the club and some players reverting to playing C grade to get away from the monstrosity he called coaching!

Johno coached us for a year at Hope Valley. He used to address the players at the huddle with his kid on his arm and every second word started with F or C. His favorite saying was "im not here to make friends". There was no chance of that. Absolute spanner!

I know who the spanner is and its not SJ, your club head hunted him from TTG I know who the spanner is if my facts are correct SJ coached your club for 1 year and you were supposed to go down to div 6 in 2002 with your div 6 cattle that SJ had and received a lifeline to stay in div 5 with div 6 cattle and SJ took your club from second to bottom to 6 position by missing the 5 by 2 games while coaching against a B grade coach and U17 coach pushing & smoking you know what and was accepted by your club. That is why SJ quit and moved onto bigger and better leagues with astonishing results while you followed up with 5 coaches and getting relagated down as low as div 7 and loosing the un-loosable GF against West Croydon, only now have you reached div 5 seven years later. Your club is a joke and currently haqve a mini bus at the helm that cant get an A grade gig above div 4.
