Fair grant $250k for the sudanese,
It may help the footy club, but how has it helped their community?????

Like I said footy nut, I'm just a player so I don't know the details of whats happening. There are more than ten new players on board though.

Why would any club spend $85k in div 3? Couldn't a club put together a side capable of winning for less than that? It would make sense to spend less than that then spend more money as the club progresses up the divisions. The club wants to get back into div 1 but I don't think it's possible to buy a competitive div 1 side then put them in div 3 and wait three years. $85K is a lot to spend each year over a few years. The club was in some financial trouble when I went there 4 years ago and have got out of it by careful management. I don't think the people who have just got us out of trouble would throw ridiculous amounts of coin away to see us back in the same position.

Are you saying that Peter Thomas or O'Conner told you how much we are spending on players footynut? Are they that silly? I think you may be telling porkies.

Originally I heard that Uniting or Lutheran Care were going to organise sessions with them. A lot of them hang around the oval playing soccer and basketball so I think the idea was to integrate them with the club and also provide an organised activity. Everyone's big on health these days and I don't think there was a gym available to people in the area. Don't know if it will work though.

We had one Sudanese guy Danny play for us last year, funny bloke and awesome athlete. He used to ride his bike to Semaphore in pre-season and since Ryan Byle left the best runner at the club. Hopefully we can get a few of the younger guys playing footy, my guess is there is some potential there.

spoke to a bloke today who is in the know out at eastern park and they may be in a bit of trouble. the coach had signed a contract to be paid $4000 for the year but now wants $7000 or is leaving and if he goes he will take all his recruits and more with him. He has put applications in to coach out at birdwood, macclesfield and naracoorte and hopes to hear soon. Also the gattos got promised a lot and don't seem to be getting anything near what they were promised and are planning on walking.

Watch this space as eastern park may be in more trouble than central united

I dont think you could call Para Hills 2007 effort a failure - promoted to D3, even though they didnt win the flag.

Well if the coach is alleged to have signed a contract? which I would think it would be a SANFL affilated league contract, then the club would be able to hold him to that contract though the SANFL as they can do to any player who signs one.

In any case $7K for a div 3 coach seems to within the ball park, as most would have to compete with country leagues where that is about the going rate. $4K is peanuts for div 3
Everything is fair!
