Shoc have lost a few & didn't show enough last year with what they had so i'll predict them to go backwards.
The Weed will pick up some guns you'd suspect & bring Phos back up the ladder.
Your lads at Payneham after a slow start showed improvement 2nd half of year & adjusted to div 2 better than many div 3 sides before them. So i think you'll be one of the big improvers.
Pembroke were good on there day, if they can keep what they had & pick up a few, they will be dangerous.
Modbury lost some guns & will slide.
Interesting to see Athelstone & Smosh up from div 3. they've both been talk'n it up alot & by the sounds of it have recruited well, as you know chicky its a big jump, so we'll see who can walk the walk rather than talk the talk.
Townies are lucky to keep Golding which will save them from relegation.
But i do predict Uni's to be the hunted. they will have numbers of players wanting to return to the club.
First time relegated they'll all be jumping back on the wagon.

Who have shocs lost? know 1 good player has gone overseas

Hereen
Woods
Yeomans
Winstanley [not confirmed]

yeah hereen is O/S. But from my knowledge the other 3 are playing. Yeomans is captain so he wont be going anywhere. Winstanley and Woods usually wouldnt do a preseason i wouldnt think, woods with cricket and winstanley being a male gigalo.

Modbury is one of those teams I never like to write off..especially 3 months before a ball is even bounced..perhaps if anyone can enlighten us on players they may have picked up?

I think someone may have written this before, but it'll be Uni then everyone else... I'd perhaps stick PHOS and maybeeee even Athelstone I think might be around the mark... if all these supposed recruits come good, they might be rather competitive.

If athelstone have thrown out the check book again look out for duds central. They like to recruit players who think they are better then they are at there previous club and go searching for the coin. And who do they run to first the piggy bank ATHELSTONE. Good luck to them. But when you recruit players like they do you never get anywhere. Supposedly the best club in div 3 for the last 3 years how many flags.
Then the coach goes cause his players cant play big games. They rap up all these players who go missing under pressure and in big games against quality opposition. If they are going to be around the mark then the quality of div 2 from last year is going down the drain.

Whatever you say AM. . What is it with this bagging the Raggies, what did they ever do to upset everyone else. As for throwing the cheque (see the spelling) book around, believe what you want to believe.

We'll just go about our business and see how we go. Keep working hard and try to do our best. 50 players on the track both nights this week trying their hardest to make next year a successful one. Can't ask for more than that.

But surely even you must think that $450 a game is pretty excessive, even though White is a good player...

I think thats a bit harsh dont you think!!!

As far as Athelstone go, yes they pay their players but its the club its self that draws plays to it!

Kinda and Friendly people
Great Oval
Poker Nights/Pokies
Bar and Bristo
All round good club with very very friendly people.

Also heard a big rumor the otha day. Phil Raymond delisted saint will be either playing for SHOCS or in the VFL next year but SHOCS have tha upper hand as he is home sick and none of the Sanfl clubs will pay the transfer fee .

Travis White = $450, his mates will command close to that however there apparently there is a bigger signing in the wings and also spotted at trainging a giant to bolster the big man stocks - any raggies men here can add the name? Malcolm Grossman has returned home and will be a Raggie in 08, looking to slow down his pre-season a tad to avoid repeat injury.
Rankine from Modbury on the move.

There is no way travis white is on $450 a game at the raggies. im pretty good mates with him and he is out at the raggies as its the closest footy club from his house. i think its pretty funny how people go along with rumours. im sure if he was after money he would have sticked to the hills comp!

there are actually about 5 clubs closer to him than Athelstone. You're obviously not as good a mates with him as you think.

Raggies is not his closest club! My news comes from a committee member on the night he signed and then from one of the coaches only last week.

If its his closest club then he must just be playing for the $50 bucks a win ratio right?

the guys coming from Mt Lofty will be getting paid more then $200 no problems there. Raggies will be a good side this year.
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

You can't assume that becuase players are being paid that they'll perform... sometimes it can promote a sense of "who cares? I'm getting paid anyway" attitude..

Well i think they have to perform with a little less talent this year, have lost a few from their A grade from last year with a few going overseas and to league clubs. But have a well respected coach on board and have picked up a few from Westies and a few returning from the country. Think also Koster is playing on.

You came on here stating that he plays there because it's his closest club, there's no way he's getting $450, and that you're good mates with him. You're wrong on 2 of those things, so are we expected to believe that you're mates with him too?

Anyone got any news on a young kid from Modbury by the name of Ronald Rankine? Played about 10 games last year on the wing and in the middle. Apparently kicked 5 against Kilburn from the wing.
