No way was the free kick count that in the B grade!

And yes Sumner is a perfect example of the umpire not paying HTB all day

Caleb Daniel is no giant either but he's 20 odd.
In fairness to the guy if at all there was any doubt he wasn't exactly in a position to see a minor flick of the post, if it happened.
Ball was a scrubber kick bouncing in all directions along the ground, as I said he was on the wrong side of the ball to see anything, it happened that quick.
**** me the professional AFL umpires get it wrong and need video, just so happened it was the last goal of the day.
Give the guy a break he's cheat bud.
Top game of footy none the less.

The biggest giveaway that the ball hit the post was the reaction from the player who kicked it he threw his hands on his head and couldn't believe he missed then only did he celebrate once the goal umpire signalled the goal. I was under the impression that if there is any doubt on a scoring decision or out of bounds on the full that the lesser decision was to be paid?

How does a goal umpire see the doubt in the blokes reaction?

Surely you must be over 18 to umpire an A grade game?

At what Div do you have league supplied goal umpires?

Reckon it's 14 the cut off is isn't it?

Good one.
Just like when players clap a ball on the line when it sails close to the post but is a point.
What goal umpire seriously takes notice of players, come on that's a fair stretch.
There was a discussion but it remained a goal, blame the field umpire not the goal umpire.

4 in 2006.
Won the 2005 GF in 2005, straight back down the next year.

Wow, just woke up from a massive night and have a big hangover and then I have to scroll through and read all these comments about umpires and goal umpires and controversy!

Why can't I read about how yesterday's game was of high quality with both sides giving their all. That is the best game of Div 6 footy I have ever been involved in. Pulteney are a great side and are still massive favourites to take the flag. They have quality all over the ground, no passengers and are well coached. The game was played in great spirits. I will take a 99 point turn around from Round 6 but know we still have plenty of work to do if we are to seriously challenge.

Congratulations to Pulteney on their part in putting on a great spectacle on our 50th Anniversary.

We look forward to the challenge of our next game against Salisbury West.

Mate take it how you like, but its pretty accurate - sides who come down who don't get out straight away tend to get stuck for a while - West Croydon is a prime example, quality squad last few years but still here.

Fitzroy been here a while now too, and Ingle Farm longer than everyone else.

Your squad can be 20 goals better than the rest this year, but a lot changes over summer - players leave if they don't get success, retirements etc and other sides recruit heavily.

Farmers were in Div 4 for two years 2006 and then relegated in 2007
